It's a normal few megabytes mp3 file. Menus really slow down when music is playing. The menu opening animation (when icons burst from the center of the screen) has like 4 frames of animation in uneven intervals, when normally it has 8-10 frames (on K750 it's even smoother). Tab switching animation sometimes has 0 frames (one tab, than after a while immediately next tab).

I've quickly put together a speed test, please set this as your wallpaper and tell me your scores. Mine are:
Without music: 13,5 fps
With music: 8,4 fps

PS
I've got a 08W22 model with latest firmware.

I got 6.3 to 8.5 with music and 12.4 to 13.1 without. My phone is quite new, with latest firmware has no files/information other that received with the phone.

R1FA035
08W13

I am used to P990i which is far slower and therefore it might be the reason I don't feel W910i slow. Everything is relative.

P.S. My phone is Hong Kong version which has both traditional and simplified Chinese menus which might affect the speed a little bit though I have set the language English.

I'm afraid I must agree with all you say
Pity such a beautiful slim phone has those "stepbacks"?
I use a 4gb card and it takes a long time to use anything and the battery drains in 2 days .
AF and bad camera in such an expensive model is ridiculous, as in the w980.
I agree the "setting" options are not too many (operator logo ...what ou mention too)
The silent key!!! You are sooo right.
Still, it is a beautiful phone (I've got the asian white version),m lsime and light.
I wish it was louder too, but SE will never do a 100% complete phone again, still missing my super old w800 and k50 features here. Those were Top phones and STILL now, we all miss them

One thing I have to Agree is it's slow when walkman is on. Other is going real smooth..
So I'm satisfied with mine
Going change up it to W980 later C905..

Heh, I have a W910i but I never use it for its Walkman functions. I don't find it slow generally, but it always does these little freezes during everyday use, quite often while writing text messages so it misses out several letters in a row. Some times it catches up again, and sometimes I have to go and press all the buttons again. Its quite annoying.

Then there's the slide. While mine has stayed smooth throughout its life, it has now started to scratch parts of my phone. On the back it is rubbing the paint off, and on the front there are scratches in the plastic.

I figure I'll never buy another SE slider. And I'll never buy another Walkman phone because I just don't need it and I bet I'm paying for the Walkman brand. I'm 90% sure I'm going to get the C902 as my next phone. Ive decided camera is way more important to me and I'm sick of having only an average one on my W910i.

Currently im into Java bussiness and I'm working on some pretty large dictionary (JAR file has 2MB). Here is a benchmark done on that dictionary (find all words starting with 'a')
K750: 0,9 sec
W910: 9,2 sec

This is outrageous. I must get rid of this phone. Do you think K850 is better in terms of faults I've mentioned?

PS
Also, when I have mega bass enabled volume is dropping on every beat. They call that a music phone?

Are you sure you are running the phone on R1FA035. And if you are have you tried reflashing using the SEUS. The latest release is totaly reflashing the phone.

Only now on the newest firmware am i happy with the phone. The music quality is making a mate with a modded k800i jelous, Which is good enough for me

I've got R1EA030. I did a total reflash with SEUS this friday. Thats weird. Maybe the newest version is not available for my region yet? (I'm central europe)

hi guys!

i'm also an w910 owner and i must say i'm quite happy with it.
of course, it's not perfect, but it's pretty good for my needs.

anyways, i found one strange thing with it, so i would like to hear what you guys think.
saving sms messages ... 2 available options, phone memory or memory card (2GB) ... i selected memory card, but all of my messages i wanted were saved in phone memory nevertheless. now, it's 100% ful and i can't save no more. i tried to move already saved messages to memory card but i get an error saying i can't do that.
i did manage to tranfer saved messages to computer just in case.
so i wonder if my only choice now is to delete all saved sms messages to free up the phone memory and to start filling it up again, because i don't know how to order my phone to save sms messages to memory card?!

thanks for your suggestions!
