Cheers everyone. Had a quick play and it seems quite fast and love the screen. Mainly cos I can actually see it clearly lol

Just one thing. I've downloaded Odin but cannot find generic uk 2.3.6 firmware. Can find 2.3.5 on xda but my gs2 is running o2's branded 2.3.6 firmware.
Anyone help me finding the files I need as I'd be looking to do this tonight after the little monsters are asleep

Rookwise
I couldnt find any UK FW unfortunetly, i also looked for it, and eventualy settled with Luxembourg as it was the smallest to download, lol, and ive been very happy with it.

All
Seems the Galaxy S2/Galaxy Note are still the most powerful dual-core based Android phones, so much so they are even keeping up with the new quad-cores in some aspects

Is it possible to downgrade from 2.3.6 to 2.3.4/2.3.5 using Odin and then use Keis to upgrade again back to 2.3.6 (only this time a generic version would get installed). Would it be safe to do. Without damaging the phone ?

Ive never tried, and wouldn't suggest doing so, unless you find someone else who has done that.

Interesting, thanks. Lookout is requesting £1.99 per month or £19.99 annually. It seems to be well known on Android and working well.

Will look at Virus barrier.

I think the price would put me of
try and scoop up some reviews before you go for it if you think you need it!

the Virus barrier I think is only available to iThings but it worths a google too incase its not
I only found it on the App store and did a quick pondering on it !

Same here. Theres no real need for a virus app at the moment. Never bothered using one either.

Gonna keep looking for the right generic uk firmware and start getting some use out of the phone. Keypad is much better to use than on my ray or x10 and everything runs and accesses quickly. Screen is really nice too. Just that battery cover being bendy but locks onto the phone tight.

Think i may register over on sammobile. See what firmwares they have.
