Ok, sounds fair enough- so I now understand that Muslims don't believe in earning a place in heaven - learn something new everyday
Just one point I don't understand
In Christianity we believe that while God loves us and is all powerful, he is 100% Righteous. And because he is so righteous he cannot ignore sin, because it is right that there is punishment for sin. So although God is a God of love, and the last thing he wants is to see anyone in hell - he is also a God of absolute righteousness, so he CANNOT allow sin to go unpunished.
What I don't understand is how Allah can allow people into heaven that have sinned? Where have these sins gone? God cannot ignore sin. He can forgive it, but it still needs to be accounted for. So how does that work in the Quran?
Thanks

Chapter 6 Verses 61-62 states:
He is the irresistible, watching from above over His worshippers, and He sets guardians over you. At length, when death approaches one of you, Our angels take his soul, and they never fail in their duty.
Then are men returned unto Allah, their protector, the only reality: Is not His the command? and He is the swiftest in taking account.
Chapter 75 verses 6-17 states:
He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
At length, when the sight is dazed,
And the moon is buried in darkness.
And the sun and moon are joined together,-
That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"
By no means! No place of safety!
Before thy Lord alone, that Day will be the place of rest.
That Day will Man be told all that he put forward, and all that he put back.
Nay, man will be evidence against himself,
Even though he were to put up his excuses.
Move not thy tongue concerning the to make haste therewith.
It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:

@ Pleber " So the 9/11 Hi-Jackers are in heaven? "
First it's not my right to say.
However, in my opinion no they will not go to heaven because what they did is considered against the religion's values. (if you skip a few pages back you'll see we covered this.
regarding your question of how Allah can let people into heaven if they have sinned.
Two things, first of all, if someone has honestly in their heart felt greif and tried their best to do what they can in life, then God may forgive them, and yes they might end up in heaven, however they will still go to hell first.
Regarding your statement about God punishing the sinful in Christianity, umm... didn't preists sell tickets into heaven?

uh.. i thought I just did...
The religion of Islam is one that promotes peace and betters one's self.
Some people misinterpret Islam and use it for their own deeds.
Some honestly believe in their hearts that what they are doing is not wrong.
To me and 99% of other Arabs, we say that what terrorists do is wrong.
I've said it before though, terrorists that fight to protect their homeland aren't terrorist until they kill the innocent.
Terrorists that attack other country's in order to convert them or 'punish' others are not Muslims.

No offense PK, but sometimes it'd be nice to read your own explaination than just a quote.
@pleber:
the difference doesn't really seems to be much different here, if I interpret PK's quote, then it all amounts to being judged by allah then going to "heaven" or "hell" (substitute as nessecary)
So lead a good life and you will still have to answer for it in the end
Pretty much the same thing I was always taught growing up in school about christianity.. Though with a bit more sin and be guilty's thrown in for measure.

Read Carefully Pleber.

Nay, man will be evidence against himself,
Even though he were to put up his excuses.
Move not thy tongue concerning the to make haste therewith.
Parts of your body will speak as to what actions they did on earth. Every second of your life you will be questioned for.

Gigs, the only reason i do this is to show what the Islamic scripture actually states and that they are not my own words. Islam today is Misintepreted due to incorrect words and misunderstandings and this is why i just want people to know what the Holy Quran says as it has not changed in over 1400 years.
