Something I really miss in SE firmwares is better customization of profiles. I.e. different ring tones/sms tones or vibrate settings depending on profile.
Also, why is it impossible to set a contact-specific sms-tone just like the ring tone?
Does anyone know if any custom firmwares include these or SE have any plans on this?
interesting, it could come in handy i never thought of that

@odyssey5 unbelievable...! I just can't believe it. Unbranded/generic phones dont have any such option. I thinkl you're the only person who could change Alarm Volum on a K850i. I even didn't see those adjustable volume setting for alarm on any of the SE java phone. Dont know about Symbian & Smart phones whether they have this option.
For me the volume of the alarm is loud enough to wake me up in the morning. You can customize each alarm and select individual audio files for each alarm.
The alarm starts ringing at lowest volume and gradually goes to the maximum.
You better to select a louder audio (mp3/wav etc.) file for Alarm.

The N82 is a nice phone.
However, like nokias suffer from a very low battery life (less than a day).
Also is not that user friendly (like S.E. or motorola) and sometimes is like a puzzle to get to any specific option.
Keypad shouldn't be called a keypad. Better a hell-pad. K850 is better here.
Picture quality is superb, sometimes better than the K850.
But remember that if you use ISO100 in your K850, you'll get amazing pictures.
I'll stick with My K850 by now (I had the chance to keep a Nokia N78 the other day but I left that one to my brother).
finally, if you use GPS or Wifi you won't get maximun 5 hrs battery life a day.

Like I pointed out earlier, don't get the C902, the pictures as posted from other users in the C902 pic thread have a lot of purple fringing, and just plain sucks.
SE marketed their phones under the Cybershot brand, but go take a look at the recently leaked Samsung i7110. You would think phones under such a label would pack a punch in the imaging department, but hell no compared to the i7110. Looks like an SE phone, right? But everything is done right - pictures look excellent, the style is very similar to SE's, and it packs a 2.8" screen, wifi, et cetera. Runs on S60 too! Take a look, I think it's a good alternative to the N82.
Sorry for going off topic, but I can't really say much about the K850i. It's a worthless phone, and I can see Sony Ericsson biting the dust. I thought Samsung was a crappy company back in the day when SE came out with the K750i, K800i, etc. I am actually quite surprised at how the GSM market is changing.
In my eyes, the C905 will make or break what SE will come to be. Preliminary pictures were awful. The K850i also gave a glimpse of what the software would be like. Same goes to the W910i, and C902, which also suffer from constant complaints by their users. If the C905 does not live up to it's name, I'm afraid I can't really say I have much hope left for them.
Times change, and I guess we'll have to realize this now and ditch our beloved Sony Ericsson if they don't improve.

thanks.... the main purpose of the phone will be making calls and taking pictures.. are there any other phones with 5 megaixel or higher that has xenon flash. are the night pictures from the N82 as good as the night pictures from the K850i. C905 is not released yet.
