Can anyone tell me why I can't download gmail app for my SE k530i here in Indonesia? I get to the download page with the .jar file and then get a HTTP 406 error message every time. Won't XL let me download it?

I just installed Gmail java client on my father's K850i yesterday without any problem, he uses Indosat Matrix GPRS connection.
Well, according to general internet error code, 406 is caused by client side error... Meaning it's either the carrier fault or some firewall blocking some access ports, then again, K530i is too basic to have such security measure.

So perhaps XL blocking websites which directly installs a third party program... Dunno, from security aspect it is commendable, but in this case it's really not a good thing.
Try downloading this link directly from your computer's web browser and copy it to your phone.

It's version 1.5 of the mobile gmail... At least that's the latest direct download link version I could find, the other is ver 1.0 and 1.1. According to
http://googlesystem.blogspot.[....]/gmail-mobile-15-released.html (unofficial blog) the ver 1.1 is better than the 1.5, so I'll just give both if you want to try it.

I've downloaded all the links, Ver 1.5 is 155 KB while Ver 1.1 is 156 KB. I couldn't test the files as I don't have much spare time left.
But consider the download links I gave as a last resort. Do try to download it directly from your phone first through Google official mobile website, try to contact XL help center if they have a workaround.

Thanks Amp. I've tried to download it multiple times directly from google via my browser and opera. I always get the 406 error. I'll try to install the file you linked me to. I appreciate your help.
