@ da brixsta,
Funny, I say that whenever I look into a mirror...

LOL, seriously though, it is indeed the stuff of geek wet dreams. Methinks I'll be needing one of these (below) tonight...

BTW, Apple's handset's a fair size, being 115mm (only 1mm more than a P990) by 61mm (3mm more than a P990), but at least it's very slim at only 11.6mm thick (14.4mm thinner than a P990!).

I'm sure the wireless monkey is gonna be 'champing at the bit' to get online ASAP tomorrow.

PS: brixster, your team were really on fire tonight, beating Liverpool 6-3 to propel them into The Carling Cup semis.

@da wanqsta: In all the excitement I went to bed really early last night and since I don't have DStv I totally ignored the football. Seems local football is more exciting...awesome game on tonight: Ajax CT vs Pie-rats:grin:

I have been talked into upgrading my pc. I have had my current one for 4 or 5 years now (just built it up and added here and there. Something that is very dissapointing is that I can't use any of my current equipment in a new pc. Ram, graphics card and hard drive all have to be changed. I knew this a while ago... but the reality is hitting me.

And the prices are astounding,.... if you get the parts you are supposed to get instead of the cheap and nasty ones.

@da wanqsta and all you Mac fiends: Just got a bit of bad news this morning from the people at Project3. Apparently the iPhone has not yet been approved by the FCC in the US and it will only be available in June on Cingular...Europe/Middle East/Africa can realistically expect the phone in December/January...expect SA to get it at the latter date.

LOL, what's with non-Pirates fans suffering from a form of dyslexia? Just kidding.
@ da brixsta,
Ya, I saw mention of that somewhere; available for Cingular only was printed in bold in one of the articles, but can't remember which one of the many that I read last night.
Didn't know about the long waiting periods though...still, let's hope it's worth the wait, but a wait like that can quickly make a handset 'passe' by the time it eventually becomes available in this ultra-fast-moving segment of technology, a la P990i...
Right now it's all-new, exciting, and a very welcome breath of fresh air in mobile phone design.
Perhaps its uniqueness and the many original attributes that it has will keep it fresh and in huge demand.

Okay, I have pulled myself away from the website and gone absolutely apefeces...this is really really going to bring mobile phones to a new level...It is incredible watching the examples on http://www.apple.com/iphone/ how it looks, feels, and operates...I dig the fact that when you turn it horizontal that everything adjusts to that...

My big concern however is apps and games...there will be, but how compatible will it be with what we need and use? I am sure this won't be a worry then, and that some widgets will do the job. Oh well, time will tell.

On when and price, this is what I found:
The phone will be offered exclusively through Cingular in the US in June, and will come to Europe in Q4 2007, and Asia in 2008. A 4 GB model will be offered for $499 with a 2 year contract, and an 8 GB model will fetch $599 with similar contract provisions. The phone can be purchased through Cingular's website or via the Apple Store.

I think we will have it by next year, right about the time I get to upgrade...Perfect timing;-)

I like this, and for now I intend to get this baby when the time comes...Can't wait! It is exactly what I need! Brick or no brick...

It is so beautiful...(Francois Perving)

Expect to roll out the Bravia phone at around the same time that the iPhone launches in Europe...it's going to be some tough times ahead for the tech geeks.

@da wanqsta: Pie-rats have just had a horrid time of late on and off the field...Kaizer Chiefs have done marginally better but nothing to write home about.
