I switched mine to the colored one as well.. the dark one was hard to see in daylight.
Otherwise ya.. the phone hasn't performed that well since I got it in 2012.. they've done a great job on 1.3

Ya.. the 808 is a very powerful machine
Like I've said many times here, it can hang with the Sony RX100 in most cases, or with any other 1" sensor device for that matter.
Its really clever technology, and you factor in the size difference b/w the 808's camera module vs the compacts .. its even more impressive.
I love shooting with mine.. its a joy to look at those clean low ISO pics

“The 808, GX7 and 400D are so close in some of them, its hard to say which is better”

I love my 808 but that simply won't happen.... when i read that review, I had to scroll back up to the top to see what a Gx7 looked like because the pics were in a whole different ballpark.

For me the 808 is more than enough in terms of IQ .. but then again, I don't shoot anything that would require a much bigger sensor/optics.
With any of these comps, always keep in mind the size difference. The camera housing (sensor, optics, etc.) on the 808 is not even 20% of the size of that Panasonic...

“More than enough” or “can hang 1" sensor” is true if you mean the resolution at low iso. At the other side dynamic range, colors accuracy and noise control of 808 are really bad, checking tests have confirmed this. For example, give a look at this comparison picture:
808
Gx7
808 has clipping highlights with all details gone, as well as pinkish red.
My little camera handles clipping highlights way better, has colors accuracy way better, handles pics with iso over 400 way better, and catch little less details that 808. Camera housing is smaller and lighter than 808, and I have paid it a third of 808’s price.
