Certain markets require phones like the XZs, I couldn't get hold of one in the UK so I image that they made a few and sold a few. IFA should at least have the XZ and Compact successors and a mystery third device, MWC should have some of the lower end devices but after the reception that the XZP got, it would be wise to have something to showcase new technology so new camera or design etc. Personally, I'd love to see a new Ultra but if the Galaxy Note is updated annually then perhaps this is the way to go. The XZP is in my opinion the best device so far so I say keep that going and perhaps make the IFA flagships cheaper and smaller to try and hit that sweet spot the Z1/Z3 Compacts had back in the day.

Z2 x Z3 , Z3+ x Z5, X Perf x XZ...
Not enough difference to choose brand new IFA phone over previous flagship.
I'd pick the cheaper ( mwc phone).
I'd choose XZ over XZs for the price.
Samsung and LG have 2 total different phones ( S, N / G, V).
At least V used to be different from G.
Seems LG is dropping second screen.
If they save next premium for IFA18, new cam cam be used..
Hope 20MP, pixel size bigger than 3 micron are real ......

When you look at timeframe between Z5 Premium and XZ Premium
which fall under 18 months per market cycle, other Xperia models are usually in 8 to 12 months.

Reason behind XZs launch in limited market, very much related to inventory management
and also the first flagship smartphone built from new Sony's factory in Thailand.

that's literally CMOS cycle, meaning Premium = come with new CMOS

XZ Premium with 4K HDR + 960fps is getting many people excited..
Imagine this....
Pixel 3 XL, LG V40, Note 9 will be crushed without mercy by XZ2P.
Sony should test if it is possible to use acoustic surface on a phone.
If this phone comes 16:9 and not 100% screen, I'll pay 1300USD if I need.

I would be happy if that is true. However I've to say this at the same time.

But it seems to required a giant power.
I believe it is all about the DRAM.
Stronger CPU might not change anything. XZs can do it.
I have no idea if even 3GB would be enough.
XZP can record more than 2 hours of
4K@30 but 1s or less of
HD@960.
It is hard to believe 1s
HD@960 is harder task than 2h of
4K@30...
But the Super Slow Mo is one of the strongest points of the phone.
Maybe even better marketing than 4K HDR.
Of course Sony will work to make it better...
Hope XZ1 and XZ1c have HDR screen too, even with lower resolution.
Iphone 7 has ...
