@Gucci: The iPhone would've been awesome if it had been in shops today. By next year when we eventually get it there'll be many other phones to compete with it that's unless your looking to replace your iPod Nano.
@da wanqsta: I'm sorry that Benni didn't get on the score sheet but a gritty win nonetheless.

@ da brixsta, yeah Benni's side could do with a few more wins. But Gilberto's antics now means he will more than likely miss the big clash with ManUre next Sunday...

Ja nee, end of the weekend and vacation and back to work tomorrow. Rather looking forward to it, albeit having to sit thru the usual endless speech so liberally sprinkled with cliches about noses stuck to grindstones and shoulders wedged against wheels. Maybe i'll even hear my own personal favourite, a twisted malignment about not upsetting the apple tart. No matter how often i tell the dude it's "cart" he sticks to tart, lol.
Anybody used
Wiki How To site yet??
Fascinating, to say the least!

@ Kryptik,
Try not let the apple 'tart' speech give you indigestion tomorrow, boet.
Maybe someone should record the speech and he can then just play it again next January, and the following one...

Who knows, maybe he might just get the message then.
What a handy site that is, although some of the popular ones on there put a smile on my face...

I heard from this indian chap at church today that they made an investigation on the availability of the iphone in south africa. He says it sounds like it will not be brought into the country. I on the other hand cannot see how the will do that, because it is a big market that will be missed. I have not really talked to many people that have said they would not highly consider getting one after i explained the examples on the web site, even though the thing is so big!
We will start bugging vodacom soon enough. I am sure lots of complaints will come out if we dont see it here.

As I've mentioned before, I'm no market analyst, but I'm sure that it's a safe bet that they'll find their way into SA, whether through independent companies or hopefully some of the networks.
Wouldn't Apple or the networks be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn't try broaden availability of such a much-hyped handset?
However, I maintain that it remains to be seen how desirability for the iPhone is maintained or diminishes in the wake of imminent Nokia and

releases before the end of 2007/ early 2008...
A year of non-evolving, market dormancy in cellphone technology? A dangerous gamble perhaps. Yes, I don't know all the facts and figures that make up the dynamics, logistics and reasons for this long gestation period, but nevertheless...
Yes, the Apple brand is strong, largely thanks to iPod success and Macs etc, but in this cut-throat cellphone arena over such a time period, well I dunno...

How long do you think it will be before they are no longer refered to as cellphones, and more like, multi purpose devices or something of the like?

An article found on Mobile Today, from a more sceptical viewpoint about the iPhone's planned 10 million-sales-in-the-year target:

@ da brixsta,
What more must an Amabhakabhaka fan endure this season? Losing 3-1 to Bloem Celtic is rubbing further generous heaps of salt into the wounds of 'The (Un)Happy People'.
