yep, as you said... 2.72 totaly failed in my W800 (R1BD001) on last trip:
- huge problems with stability (camera closed often without image save)
- quite big blur (my hands was shaking same as with 5.3 driver but it was very hard to make non-blured image)
- noise
- only some macro shots are really beautifull (sharp)
- colors quite good
- video quality nice
need to try 9.123 or 2.4...

@aksd
thanks mate for the credit

btw, sad to hear that you'll mod the last driver for us

would be great if its continue

anyway, here's some of
MY input on your requirement for your last cam driver..
Sharpness: i, myself do prefer the sharpness on the
Hybrid 2.4 Camdriver which you can see the example i took with it..
NOTE: its non-edited by any software.. Flickr do resize it automatically..
#1
#2
ISO: mostly prefer
Auto ISO rather than the fixed one

(just me

)
Compression: the most stable one =
92%
Video: the one and only =
15fps
Nightmode: anything that suits you.. but normal would be nice .. you know, lesser noise
Spot: to be serious im still scratching my head on how does this works.. maybe you can explain to me via PM

would like to know more on this
Colours: normal would be good
Focus: Full range sounds kewl

or just according to your preference
LED Settings: didnt use that too much though ( just me

)
Zoom: no reason to mod this part.. if only you can change Digital zoom to Optical Zoom.. that will be a big achievement
thats all from me

i hope it does help a bit on the latest and the last camdriver from askd

cheers~
P.s: do correct me if im wrong

thanks for the comments and views on my Flickr site

at the first time when i knew about Far Manager.. i was doubting on it.. just like how your feel. But when you can get a better chance of improvement to your camera phone, why not?

and it turns out really impressive form my point of view

@all
Just to let you know .. i'm using R1BD001. None of the camdriver crashed on my w800i... But for shure i never took pics as QuickShare™ takes. Once with my First Firmware camdriver i took a Colorful pic ... but once ...
About the Video do you think this configuration can work?? and it can work at 17fps ?? As i told in my last post ??
VR_NORMAL_MODE_FR=44;
VR_NIGHT_MODE_FR=28;

@ bl4ckb4r0n
When using the cam, the FLASH will always be on(if you turn on the LIGHT), except for a sec or 2 when u click the shot, when it kinda blinks. And i guess there's no settings to turn it automatically on only when u click like in normal cameras.
But I guess this feature is in a way useful coz u get to see a preview of EXPOSURE LEVEL of the picture before being shot rather than getting unwanted or over/under-exposed shots.

new cam driver 9.90:
- bug fix: focus mode //focus speed is a little slower than 9.89
- improved nightmode recording (it is a bit more bright and at aprox 12fps)
- improved nightmode shot
- spot photometry is only enable in night mode
if u want faster focussing and permanant macro mode on:
// Focus setting, property 9 *****
//*********************************************
// 0 => Normal mode (no macro range scanning) //by start up
// 1 => Full range
// 2 => Fast mode (no macro, reduced normal scanning)
// 3 => Fast mode and full range
// 4 => Macro range (only macro range scanning)
seq_set_prop_9=06 02 00 01 %0 41 #CMD_END;
replace 01 with 03
