these delays and mixed information on release dates is pathetic on sonyericssons part.it's basically a p1i with walkman gui.WHAT GIVES? by the time it finally hits shelves no one will give a rats ass. the n81 was anounce and released. way after the w960's announcment.looks bad, very bad on se.

I'm sick to death of SE doing this, and with the W960i I find the way they are treating their customers disgusting. We were originally told September, now it's gone back to October, then November, then December, now January still with no comfirmed date. The current phones have frankly not changed basic software wise for 3-4 years and I find them very boring very quickly. The last SE I was genuinely pleased with was the efficient and well designed K750i. I have been due an upgrade and tempted by the Nokia N95, but as a loyal SE customer felt it would be worthwhile waiting for the W960. However I'm fed up of waiting and of SE treating it's customers like they don't matter. If they are to truly challenge Nokia (who had the technologically similar n95 out months ago, with a release date, good stocks and on time) they need to get the technology when it's up to date and provide and stick to release dates. They will lose all the momentum of this phone now, people won't wait for it forever, and it no longer has a wow factor as other brands have released their contenders. I hope this bites them in the arse big time. The fact they're not releasing when they said for no better reason than to avoid going head to head with the I-Phone shows they have no courage in the product and don't value their customers as they will backtrack on promises made for nothing more than marketing reasons. Shame on you SE, another customer lost.

I agree... if you're not sure if your production can meet the launch date... shut up. I don't like the iPhone, but I applaud Apple for handling the launch/release date ON TIME.
It's not like the W960 will be released bug-free... so no excuse for that. They should've just kept silent about the product until it was ready to ship.
Long ago, before Sony came into the picture...

was much better at all this. They would "announce" a new phone... then a few days before it's release, they'd suddenly announce 2-3 more models that are better than the one they announced, and will ship in a couple of days.
Now, with Sony in the picture... seems delays are more common.
I'm itching to buy a new phone. I've been itching since the start of the year actually. The P990 didn't do it for me. I've been waiting for the W960 since it's announcement... but looks like I won't bother waiting anymore.
Even if it does come out a day after I buy another phone, I just don't care anymore. 8GB is not worth the wait...and seeing as they might NOT include the Bluetooth headset... that makes it even worse. Unless their new price point is under USD$600, I don't feel that the W960 is worth it anymore.

tnx for the info bronxdude. if it was above 30k i wouldn't get it.
asianic is also taking pre-orders for the w960 but i haven't inquired.
SE shops should have it earlier than semicon, right?

I agree with every single word in your post, CEREAL. Sick of how customers are being treated, and not sure my next phone will be SE after all.

Is your friend sure about this? Cuz I have friends in

Phil, and they're not sure (or not allowed to say?) if the Dec date is confirmed in the Phil.
And at Php28,000... that means it'll cost the same as the K850i?

I was waiting for the w960i, my last three phones we're s700, w900i, w950i, but putting it back to january has made me look at other makes and i've just bought the lg viewty instead, it was fun to play with, and the w960i is starting to look like yesterdays technologhy, its just a w950i with an old camera added and a bit more memory.
