To be fair unless you can check your email and browse the net and make phone calls on your little camera it should be much cheaper

Do you want to hear that 808 is the best camera? It’s not, quality is not only resolution.

I have a cameraphone and I have a compact camera, I use very little the cameraphone (to call not to take picture), and I use a better camera that suits my photographic needs. Why? Because I don’t want to take lot of SAR. Have you ever seen the sar level of 808? It’s 1.23 W/kg , at least something to worry about. Not?

“Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics. 2012 Apr;29(4):293-7 | Merhi ZO.
Study conclusions: The radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation (RF-EMR) produced by cell phones can enhance the excitability of the brain and has recently been classified as carcinogenic."

"Journal of Endocrinological Investigation. 2013 May 30 | Rago R and Salacone P, et al
Study conclusions: Sperm DNA fragmentation significantly altered in the subjects who use the mobile phone for more than 4 hours for day and in particular for those who use the device in the pocket of the trousers."

"Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics. 2013 Mar;65(2):85-96 | Kesari KK, Kumar S, Nirala J, Siddiqui MH, Behari J.
Study conclusions: There are hazardous health effects of exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic radiations emitted from mobile phone on the human reproductive pattern. This is especially problematic while keeping mobile phones in pocket or near testicular organs.Testicular infertility or testicular cancer due to mobile phone or microwave radiations suggests an increased level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) also known as oxidation, which can also lead to DNA fragmentation. Though generation of ROS in testis has been responsible for possible toxic effects on physiology of reproduction, the reviews of last few decades have well established that these radiations are very harmful and cause mutagenic changes in reproductive pattern and leads to infertility. Further concluding, radio frequency electromagnetic radiation emitted from mobile phone causes biological damage and leads to several changes like decreased sperm count, enzymatic and hormonal changes, DNA damage, and apoptosis formation."

"Reproductive Biomedicine Online. 2007 Sep;15(3):266-70 | Deepinder F, Makker K, Agarwal A.
Study conclusions: A recent study found that use of cell phones adversely affects the quality of semen by decreasing the sperm counts, motility, viability and morphology."

"Annals of Agricultural and Environmental Medicine. 2007;14(1):169-72 | Wdowiak A, Wdowiak L, Wiktor H.
Study conclusions: An increase in the percentage of sperm cells of abnormal morphology is associated with the duration of exposure to the waves emitted by the mobile phones. It was also confirmed that a decrease in the percentage of sperm cells in vital progressing motility in the semen is correlated with the frequency of using mobile phones."

From the comparison posted above:

“To be completely honest – in this example I don’t like the colors of the Nokia 808 PureView very much compared to the other three. The Nokia 808 PureView makes it look almost purple, whereas all other three capture the orange of the original much better. “

What I was talking about?

The 808 is not the best camera, its the best cameraphone. Along the way it could produce better images than many compact cameras, and it in certain conditions it can hang with some of the bigger ones.

Its a perfect device for someone who likes photography and want to have a decent camera on them at all times, that's all there is to it.

I also use it as my main smartphone, and it does the job just fine

Its just a very cool device from and engineering stand point. It was, and still is, way ahead of its time when it comes to imaging, and even overall convergence to a certain extend. You will have a hard time finding a device that can do everything the 808 can do.

You don’t want to see the cons. about 808

Surely it’s one of the best cameraphone judging the resolution, but lacks in a lot of other aspects: colors, dynamic range, speed, high iso, fixed lens.

I will never like a camera that force every time to boost the saturation to max, just like 808, with wrong colors. That you can see in the photo gallery.

If you show a photo to your friends/family, do you show it with pixel peer or resized at maybe 1024x768? Probably the 2nd. In that case I will not “have hard time finding a device that can do everything the 808 can do”, there are way better pics taken by Lg Renoir, a 5 years old cameraphone. Looking them resized look surely better than 808 pics.

For someone Nokia 808 can matches Rx100, Gx7 and bla bla bla bla.

Mlife, fakers gonna fake

^^^^^ LMAO.... how did I miss Fakers..!!

I do agree with you to a certain extent as I myself feel that 90% of digital images (cellphones or not /that are taken by the average consumer) are likely not ever shared larger than 1024x768. But when it comes to PHONES on the market nothing right now you've gotta be kidding me if you don't think the 808 is at the top of the heap.

But kind of to your point... here is a picture I took with my N95 back in November of 2008...

Nothing special about it - particularly - but if I posted this on a social media site or MMS'd to a friend, I bet 10 out of 10 people would never know it was taken with a phone almost 10 years old. People sometimes (IMO) just get way carried away with wanting to say they have the BEST of whatever....
