@abu: Great to have you back after the globetrotting! Wetin you bring come?

Regarding data services, I'll advise you to go MTN. Theirs is straight forward and you don't need to go to a Friendship Centre unless you want to buy their modems. MTN modems more expensive but why do need one if you have a 3G phone?

I don't know why but Google Chrome does not open this link!

Just went back thru the thread and was reading all the "RIP" gist abt the thread. The thread has never been kept together by the "founding fathers" like demmy or or disciples like coola. Its been kept together by gist. Gist abt politics. Gist abt current events. And most of all, gist abt gadgets. We lost most of it and clung too tight to the gadget gist. A few weeks back i wrote abt going for Obama's Inauguration and asked if anyone wanted to see pix. I still feel like the post is invisible cos not an utterance came of it. The thread has to loosen up. The techie aspect would always be there. But there is room for more. Anyone wanna comment on Yaradua's 7 (5) point plan?

@brym: thanks for the link. Dont know how i missed that page. Was browsing for it on my phone. Speaking of which, i thot my p990 still had at least another 6 months in it, but its been suffering from serious lack of RAM. Ever since i bought my MBW 150 and a bluetooth headset, it cant take all those and other apps running without complaining. Dont know if by freeing up some of the onboard memory would help or not with the RAM. And the phone i had in mind for a replacement ( SE's X1) is too expensive and i've heard too many complaints!

I think your best bet for excellent connectivity with your Sony Ericsson MBW 150 Bluetooth watch is to upgade to the P1. No RAM issues and you will get it for a bargain price where available.

@dawny: The thread lives on!!!
I'm on MTN data plan, actually the "nite" plan which offers 3gig for a full month at N2,500. Very erratic connection from 10pm to Midnight. But from midnight to 5pm, the connection is steady and the speed is commendable.
Maybe others on the 24/7 data package can give or share their observations/experiences...

See the link above for more info.

I was just about to drop by to do the post mortem 4 pnf but my goodness didn't know the forum has got a new heart transplant.
I saw the P1 @ park&shop for 38k. My new n82 rocks (IMO). Anybody knows where i can get maps for 9ja cities, i need to try the Gps. It came loaded wit maps of places like singapore, abu dhabi etc.
@abu what about d 5 or is it 7 point agenda? I'm really dead in current affairs right now. The only thing that interests me in the dailies now is d vacancies.
Nysc ends 4 me next week and my goodness i've never been this unsure of what to do. I ask myself should i stay back in Abj or run to Lagos? Should i take this job or that job? Its so insane.
I didn't notice much difference in my download speed via mtn despite d fact that my n82 is hsdpa. The only thing i saw was that it was quoting down speed greater than 384kps.
Is video call working? Never made a successful one.
@all lets keep it blazing here ok. Any more dull moments i will wear my gloves and facemask and proceed wit d Post Mortem.
I don tire na phone i take type all this epistle.

@dawny. I often use the mtn data via laptop. You could do that via your 3g phone as a modem. But you have to be watchful. All those automatic updates on your system has to be set to off. Then if you use all them limewire etc You will need to watch your downloads.
IMO the night plan really sucks if you are someone that gets home before 10. I think they planned it with Lagos users in mind.
BW if u stay in the evdo coverage area i'll suggest you hook up one of those. Its always on, no download limit and rarely messes up (speakin for i-zap). I use i-zap.

@2tek: i wish when i finished my nysc in abj i had a choice of where to work! My advice is if u can stay in abj then do so. But if u dont have free/ cheap room and board in abj but get it cheaper in lagos then lagos might be ur refuge!
