I just noticed my X10 phone saw the update. Is it worth while to update to 2.1?

Tried to download the "backup and restore" app from SE site and my phone will not allow me to install it since it is locked to AT&T. Does Lookout backup everything (messages, applications, settings, etc)?

There is definite improvement in performance. Mine is unlocked and unbranded though. I have no idea how a branded AT&T phone performs, but you should see a performance improvement nonetheless. and the added features (HD recording with autofocus) are nice.

Installed Gingerbread 2.3.3 on my phone last night from XDA.So far everything is working smoothly with no problems to mention. (sometimes I wonder what half those people in the forums are talking about and what the hell they are doing to their phones that its giving them so many problems lol) Camera and video is still a work in progress but that will all change when the official SE Gingerbread is released.(Dont mind at all.I never seem to use my phone for taking pics or video.) Keeping an eye on the battery performance but so far its not looking so bad.Still early days.Must still install apps ect Over the next few days I will see if its worth using as my daily ROM but so far I cant see why not.

Ok.That was very short-lived.Battery dropped below 30% and whenever the phone was idle and the screen turned off, phone would reboot. Also would freeze, then reboot when playing a song in Ringdroid.Thats enough for me to revert back to my Froyo FreeX10 Beta 4 which is rocksolid.
C'mon Sony, release the Gingerbread.Maybe the XDA devs can then progress a little further in their Gingerbread development.

Another dead end.Random reboots and I cannot connect to my wifi.Uninstall My poor X10.Its getting hammered this weekend.3 ROMS later and Im back to where I began. You gotta love xRecovery though and how easy it is to try out all these ROMs that are available.Whats making things all a bit of a nuisance is some ROMs only work with certain basebands/kernels which means when you try out the Android 2.3.4 ROMs you have to flash you phone to the .52 baseband and when you return back to 2.2.1 you gotta flash it back to the .54 baseband with Flashtool.Pain in the ass.

Wish the end of the month would just come already

Are there still no 'complete' 2.3.x ROMs out there for X10? I got an arc and stopped following J's CM7 the ROM progress.

I think the official X10 Gingerbread will be very good if arc's FW is anything to go by.

Ricky D They are so close.3 main problems. It varies from person to person.
Phone doesn't enter Deep Sleep.
Can't connect to Wi-Fi.
Phone reboots itself after battery hits below a certain percentage.(different for everyone)
Camera/Video is still a work in progress.
I've just re-installed the CM7.0.3 Gingerbread 2.3.3.Gonna stick it out and get this bitch working. It just rebooted when my battery hit 26% but seems ok now.No problem with Deep Sleep and no problem with wifi.Benchmark average of 1550.Nice and fast. Its a good ROM overall.J's done a good job.

just one more month!

i can't wait... for some reason my battery has started to drain a lot quicker lately .. it all just started very suddenly. i haven't changed how i use my phone at all but i go from 100% down to 25% in a day with my normal use where it used to only go down to about 70%.

I uninstalled every app i've installed recently to see if it makes a difference.. i hope so. i would rather not have to reflash until gingerbread is available.
