@jojotaro

Just how much computing performance do you really use? enough to keep all cores and threads running at 100% for several hours? True that laptops works as a secondary workstation but if you're in need of that much computing power, no laptop will satisfy your needs, you're always gonna need a desktop for that. I do 3d modeling and rendering as a hobby and after using my laptop for such things, it is not advisable to use a laptop mainly because the enormous amount of heat that is generated is a huge risk in damaging it's processor and battery. Maxing my laptop's processors with GPU at 90 Celsius and processor at 95 Celsius is not a good idea, plus you're not going to get max performance out of it anyway since it will slow down once it gets too hot to prevent it from overheating.

Laptops/ultrabooks are not meant for extremely heavy tasks, they are good for up to midrange gaming and decent photoshopping/video transcoding/3d modeling that typical users will ever need, but if you're a power user then it will never be enough.

I wouldn't underestimate Haswell's GPU performance, it's a major leap from ivy bridge, and in some cases it trounces even entry level discrete GPUs and AMD's mobile APU built inside their fastest chip.

As for the CPU, I'm not sure how a 5 year old mobile chip (which I assume should be based on Nehalem given the your reference timeline) can hold a candle against the new mobile Haswells which are basically "upgraded", yet more efficient mobile sandy bridge chips. unless we're comparing them to the likes of the massive Alienwares or Clevos which comes equipped with top of the line i7 CPUs and discrete cards, when it comes to price/performance/size/battery life/and features ratio I'd say these new products are few of the the best I've seen so far.

sorry for the Off topic guys, I just feel the need to share some thoughts

Sorry guys, I was just expecting to see a model with a non ULV CPU and dedicated GPU, nothing super high-end (Alienware) and some of my mates have been hopping for the revival of the legendary Z. Plus some review of the Pro I read said it replaces the S too, which seems insane to me. For ultrabooks Sony has done an impressive job but how well do these things sell with the price companies ask for them. I haven't seen any in the wild by any company for that matter. I don't won't to see Sony end up exiting the market in different areas, they build quality products like.no.other...
Does anyone know if these two support miracast!? That would be awesome!

Enough of that tough. Looks like S800 products are ready to launch in Q3 but will they be coming out side of China in that time period...

Chillax we're all aware this is XPERIA rumors thread, but sometimes it's good that we discuss some non smartphone topics especially when they're still related to Sony to give ourselves insights on what we could expect that Sony will bring us in their mobile phones

On a side note, I want an Xperia tablet that looks like a mini Duo 13 (around 8-9" maybe) with backlit keyboard and digitizer pen, Can you do that Sony?

Sorry OT, the Pro has WiDi, does that interact with Miracast or is it included in any of Sony's other products?

I wonder if the pen's top portion can work as an eraser like the wacom pens do
