Idou of course

S60 touch UI seems promising too, but no pocketable device running it has been made yet, so its a waiting game. In the interim, I still intend to replace my P1 with the G900 next month. Its now N45k

The 5800 Xpress Music runs on same platform(S60v5) and it is very pocketable( barely smaller than Idou).

At N45k, the G900 is expensive! I guess it would have been cheaper if it were not for the recent crash in the naira.

... Idou is also the first announced device to ever run on the brand new open source Symbian UI that's still being developed by the Symbian Foundation.(GSM Arena)

@amby: Sorry, I am wrong Idou runs on a different platform.

My MTN 'nite plan' has expired and I am really not sure I want to renew it...Too many late nights recently.

@dawny; If you are in Abj proper i think Starcomms Izap will suffice. really dont know about the other providers e.g zoom, multilinks, visafone and their coverage. I stay in Gaduwa and the izap is ok here but when i go into town it gets better.

@brym: im disappointed at mtn's nite bundle more especially so bcos even though there is a gprs signal, there is no access on many nights. After gearing myself up for a late night, its frustrating to have no access. Tried calling the CC but no show. I've lost 4 nights since i started.

@all: am i the only one with MTNZONE 50% on my phone? The percentage used to swing from 10% to 50% on my standby screen. What is that abt?

@brym: just read ur ordeal with glo. I would reduce NCC's gbosas to 1.
First, they should have detected such shortcomings b4 it becomes epidemic.
Second, they should have given them a a few working days to reimburse u, not a month. Its not like they are transfering $1000000000 to ur swiss bank acc.
Third, Glo should have been penalised for the "duress" they put u thru to resolve an issue that really ddnt need so much correspondence. The fact that they complained that u took the issue up to ncc is even more reason that they should get penalised. Would it really hurt if they gave u N50000 as some compensation?

Abu, I have absolutely no issues with my P1, but I just feel I should change the phone after having used it for over 6months now. Plus the G900 has a 5mp camera. As for the full qwerty keyboard I wouldn't miss it, cos I use HWR most of the time

@amby: oh! I forgot im talking to a big man! My phone cycle is closer to 18 months. Sorry for disturbing u, sir! i'm glad to hear the P1 isnt messing up. I think i'll go for it and stay with qwerty. I never really liked HWR. Its to slow. It will take me an hr to write this post with it. I'd forget half of what i want to right b4 i get to writing it. And the fact that its a bit cheaper doesnt hurt either. Now, which way is best to transfer my settings, apps etc?

You've gotta be kidding me! HWR is slow??? maybe on your phone but definitely not on my P1. I like to change phones at least every six months, bcos I get bored with the phone, plus after like six months, the housing usually gets scratched and begins to look old. I no be big boy oh.

@abu: I'm not too sure about the MTN zone thing but I guess that you probably activated "area information" on your phone. Could the percentage display just be signal strength from the nearest base station?
About Glo, I am just content that I got what was due to me. You can imagine how many of their customers they cheat by failing to honour promo promises. Nobody need advise me to take part in any glo promo again
