Much as i appreciate your work guys, there has to be a certain LIMIT upto where we can tweak the phone, the excess of which might affect its durability and functionality. Otherwise why would SE hire highly-experienced ENGINEERS and pay a $30k per month salary just for a quiet MEDIA PLAYER/WALKMAN or a cam that doesn't seem to click the right shots. I'am sure what our experts here at Esato discovered have long been encountered by the SE Team ages ago and came up with a solution that would cater to all and also not affect the framework of the handset.Or did they not see the pot-holes at all???
But the above comments apart, am still using our experts' Cam and Sound driver...LoL...
No Offence...!!! Chillz

@chakme
did you ever try to take shots of high detailed landscape? many trees, grass and many stones - my W800 had really big problems with that kind of pictures. i think that was because high detailed pictures are large size and 600kb buffer was insufficient

I can only test this camera with k750 r1ca021 and it works just fine with high detail shots. i use 616kb buffer but not all phones have this kind of buffer. All phones have more than 600k. Some phones have only 602-603 others 620-625. I've tested my phone and came up with the 616kb value. The drivers that i release here have only 600kb buffer. You must test and see if you have more than 600kb buffer and how much more. Also from what i've seen 92% is the best. if you go to 93% it will result in camera crashes. If you have problemes that play it safe and go to 90%. I doubt you'll still have problems at 90%.

new cam driver 9.90:
- bug fix: focus mode //focus speed is a little slower than 9.89
- improved nightmode recording (it is a bit more bright and at aprox 12fps)
- improved nightmode shot
- spot photometry is only enable in night mode
if u want faster focussing and permanant macro mode on:
// Focus setting, property 9 *****
//*********************************************
// 0 => Normal mode (no macro range scanning) //by start up
// 1 => Full range
// 2 => Fast mode (no macro, reduced normal scanning)
// 3 => Fast mode and full range
// 4 => Macro range (only macro range scanning)
seq_set_prop_9=06 02 00 01 %0 41 #CMD_END;
replace 01 with 03
here is the link:
http://rapidshare.de/files/30673827/camdriver0.dat.html
--------------------------------------------------------------
but here i see the
VR_NORMAL_MODE_FR=44;
VR_NIGHT_MODE_FR=1a;
so the night mode recording is only 6.5 fps.
Also i see the spot photometry 18 attribute to be null.
seq_set_prop_18=;
Correct me if i am wrong

VR_NIGHT_MODE_FR=1a; // 1a means 26 in dec. But now (only for night mode) it means 26/2 (instead of 4) equals 13. You can raise it up to 15fps but there will be a big decreas in brithness.
About property 18: it is off in normal mode but if you'll check out property 7 (night mode) you'll see this lines:
06 02 00 01 01 08 #CMD_END // spot on (for nightmode on: seq_set_prop_7_1)
and
06 02 00 01 00 08 #CMD_END //spot off (for nightmode off: seq_set_prop_7_0 )
later edit: just record a video in night mode and you'll see the frame rate:11.5 - 13fps

@Born Dead
The guys at SE know for sure how to make the best possible image with this hardware. But why should they bother to install it in their old k750 and w800 - when they have all the brand new CyberShot models and want to sell them. If they put the best drivers in k750, no one would buy the much more expensive models.
@ady_k4e
Could you please explain a bit more about the macro settings? What is the use of macro focus in Normal mode? What is the difference between the 5 settings?
