Indeed!!

It's been a very boring one so far, I think the 2nd Half will get more exciting with the G3, Note 4, Lumia1520 successor, Xperia Z3 , Z Ultra successor (maybe?), the BB Z30 successor, BB Q20 etc...

Would it be fair to say the 1020 destroys all but the 808? Including 1520, S5, 5s etc etc?

I would say so. Look at it destroy the Z2 HERE.

I don't see anything beating the 1020 unless it comes from Nokia.

I second this.

yes, its because thin phones are trendy.. can't have thin phones and decent cameras, at least not yet. On top of that they are yet to figure out how to make Android behave in terms of camera optimization.. I still think that they are struggling.

The only problem is that with all of that "transitioning" it might delay the next cam flagship a bit.. but I am still betting on a 2014 release

Destroying.. that's a bit harsh, but yes, overall the 1020 would beat them all since I has better picture taking hardware.

My eyes seems to prefer the 1020 images over the 808 I like the sharper & higher contrast look.

Interesting though on all about windows phone the S5 beat the 1020 in 2 or 3 pictures and was close on others.

Don't tell that to the fanboys over in the Z2 thread or they'll throw their DXO-bible at you!!!

I must add though, I do agree with CU that "destroy" is a bit of an overstatement.... it's just ignorance to think sony's hardware has somehow defied physics and haters just refuse to believe that ~period~

I totally understand what you mean... sometimes (not always) I'm just amazed at some of the stuff that comes out of my 1020 while other times the images seem subpar at best..... Thats probably more due to an inconsistency in my technique however I too find myself preferring the 1020 .jpg.

I will say though that I do now leave the 808 at home 90% of time and am EAGERLY awaiting to see what 8.1 brings as well as what's next from MS.

1020 does destroy or almost destroy the Z2 here.
