I tried an upgrade at TIM in Lima but the last they have is R4C so I went to SE in Buenos Aires, Argentina on my last flight hoping to upgrade fw to R6C. I know I've been exceptic on this but I thought It would be an experience to update it, and finally if its performance doesn't satisfy me I just can downgrade.

The history is that I left my phone and returned an hour later to pick it up, really excited this time to experiment everything I had heard about R6C. Well, turned it on and 5 minutes later the phone freezed. Turned off didnīt work so I took the battery off and waited a copule of minutes to restart. The phone never turned on again.

So I went to SE againg and left the phone. An hour and a half later they called me to pick it up. This time, they said, everything is ok, and it really was, played a bit with it and tested IR and BT, all great. Then inserted >*
I asked why and they told me that 'sometimes' the upgrade doesn't work because the phone is 'used to' work with the old fw and just don't accept the new one, is that possible?

Good point about this experience?, I really don't know, but at least I got a MPF-10 flash for less than 20 us$, so mad about new fw, but happy for getting the flash that cheap.

Keep the r4c and wait for the next fw. @all we experienced today, in a 100% clear t630 we had 2484 kb free, all pre gone, 0 kb shown at every menus in mem. This message was posted from a T630

I went to TIM again today to buy a T610 for my GF (sadly they're out of stock) but while waiting I had a little chat with a technician and he told me that 'due to a technical issue' they're not upgrading to R6C, they just keep R4C as actual FW waiting for the release of a new one. So, if anyone is upgrading to R6C, maybe a good advice will be to just keep on R4C and wait a bit.

@ayush, is ur phone still under warranty?
do u think he'll charge u for a fw change? (i don't know if downgrade is the right term.. lol)
but, don't u see any positives on r6c?

boba, i have r4c on t630, so if i put in r4c again, u think they'll be able to delete predefined items that usually cannot be deleted?
2484k is adequate for a t630 i think. (isn't it rated as 2Mb though? or is it like 2X1064kbytes?)
