@all, let's see if zain can maintain the tempo.
I say Amen to that!
I really don't know if I can survive on 100mb /per month. I am using these apps:
- utorrent to download whole movies, books and music
- Httrack to copy several websites for later viewing and study
- Outlook to get all my Gmail and yahoo mail
All these are bandwidth hungry. I don't want to spend more than 3k in a month for internet and I want speeds that are constantly 30-50kb/s. Can i get it on GSM or CDMA?

Ahhh! Finally browsing with Zain lite. It took Zain 10 days to provision my line for internet service.
As amby said, speed is quite fast on mobile.
@coola: Try my formula for next month:
zain lite with Operamini for mobile browsing 24/7 and
MTN 3G nite surfer for PC connection and heavy downloads from 10pm to 5am
Total cost:N3,500

Has anyone successfully configured a windows mobile phone to work with glo gprs? MTN works smoothly but not glo.I wonder why.
Was at Zain's outlet at The Palms to provision my prepaid line for browsing but the guy there told me only wap access is available to prepaid lines. Is this true?

@artwales: Yeah, I sometimes browse with a glo sim on my windows mobile. It works well except when glo gprs is down and glo downtimes are quite frequent these days.
The Zain guy lied. I bought a new Zain prepaid line two weeks ago and requested for internet settings immediately. As stated above, I got the settings but my line was only provisioned for internet service 10 days after. I did write them a mail too requesting for my line to be provisioned.

@Brym: You are able to browse with Glo on your WM device because your SIM is activated for glodirect (Full Internet), which means that Artwales will have to get a postpaid SIM to use glo on his WinMo
@Coola: I don't know any provider that can deliver 50kbps steady download speed to you that wont cost you an arm and a leg.
I use uTorrent too and I get between 5-12kBps on Zoom WWAN

i am really at a loss here cos i've tried unsuccessfully to configure the Windows Mobile. i actually have 2 glo sims; one is a postpaid line while the other is a dedicated data sim. None works but they work well on my old p990.I used the ff settings;
apn:glosecure
username:gprs
passwd:gprs

@amby: I don't think that restriction is still there; prepaid can use glodirect and it seems that his sim is already activated for glodirect.
@artwales: The settings are OK. If the glo sim works in P990 it should work in a WM device. I don't have my WM device with now, can you just list the steps of configuration so that I can crosscheck when I get home.

I do browse easily with my MTN SIM on the phone, so i guess the problem may not be the configuration. Sent 2 unreplied mails to glo. Went to the frienship centre in The Palms, My initial inquiry about blackberry was not satisfactorily answered so i was actually afraid of asking a more technical question like configuring a WM phone. I just walked away.

Trust SE to disappoint as usual. So we have to look up to Nokia to release the first Symbian Foundation OS device.
