On a side note, the Sony Ericsson Backup and Restore app did work for me (fortunately), as I had the most recent backup of my contacts and SMS/MMS in that app... Dont know if it is because my phone is rooted, but i recall SE saying that it wouldnt work... Im glad I tried anyway....

I believe that has been mentioned several times by SE. Nevertheless, perhaps this can be of any help for you.

I managed to put it on ..
All I can say is it will take a while to get used
To the new layout but ive noticed its quicker on the internet etc.

Like the shut of thing if u leave it tho
All icons have changed etc not bad

I think I prefered the menu layout tho on 2.1
FLicking thru side to side is horrible to find apps :-S

How's the overall performance of UI speed? better or the same? also one of the most important feature that I've been waiting for is Wifi Tether, anybody can review that?

EDIT: can we now install apps on SD?

Changed my firmware from globak generic to generic uk last night to get gb. Must say the phone works very well. Less lag and more fluid. Even the little touches to the battery icon and fonts are a welcome improvement. I was suprised to find timescape still present as I thought it couldnt be used with gb except as a standalone app.
The keyboard has been improved too.

Not sure if it's been said but Global Generic is now available. I'm currently installing.
