@gunnut - yea i am purchasing my phones in hong kong... and from wut i herd.. yes its comming out in december b4 christmas like SE said in their global press... but then with all this rumour saying its after january... iunno if i can wait that long. i really hope its true that its comming out from dec 4-8

my source is a contact at sony ericsson here in sweden, I have pre-ordered the phone at the swedish mobileking katshing.se I asked them and they called sony ericsson to confirm a date. and se said december the third.

OK here's the score for me:
- like you all I have been waiting very patiently for the 960i for a bl**dy long time!
- all we get from SE is Q4, then for Australia it's AT LEAST Jan 2008
- look at Nokia's branding, their marketing, leaps and bounds ahead of SE (at least here is Aus)
- Nokia are leading the market with new features, the sheer number and variety of accessories
- Nokia DELIVER on time!
- today I got my hands on the N95 8Gb, it's a quality piece of hardware
Tomorrow I put my order in for the N95 8Gb, it's cheaper than what the w960i is likely to be, it has a 5M camera, GPS, performance is already proven in production, better screen, blah, blah, blah
I begrudgingly say all this as I'm an SE fan through and through, but SE, you've now lost a customer.
Thanks to all you forum contributors who have kept me up to date and provided quality review information & feedback.

In all seriousness, sony ericsson said quarter 4. As stated a few post before mine were still in quarter 4 and will be until midnight december 31st. We havent been lied to were just impatient. We all want to understandable play with the new toy, but we cant keep toting around waving our fist in the air in rage at sony ericsson for not releasing a product that they themselves said would not be out until Q4. We all hoped for early q4 but this hasnt been the case. As far as statements saying that it wouldnt be released until 2008 and then statements saying that it would be available for the holidays, i interpret it like this: it will be available on ebay and certain websites unlocked without service, but it will not be available to service providers until 2008. Again thats just my interpretation. I think it would be stupid of se to not release for the holidays as it would boost sales of the phone.
I myself could not wait and purchased the p1i. And to be honest am loving it, but im still very curious about the w960i. Iv looked into the possibility of flashing the p1i into the w960i while still keeping the qwerty keyboard and m2 slot. Even if i did that i would still probably want the w960i because i like that its a little thinner, the color scheme, the flush screen, and to me and my personality more appealing body wise. Ive read the reviews and comments good and bad on the 960i and am still want to play with it myself. Ill hold both phones in hand and compare, weight out pluses and minuses then pick. The loser will then go on ebay.

Thats weird, Vodaworld here in JHB South Africa had said in around 3weeks time. W960 better SO MUCH BETTER than it was when i tested it if its going to be released so late!

Im sure it will be quite expensive at first but then hopefully like all other UIQ phones they drop fast. The N95 8gb has its posatives aswell but it doesnt have the battery life, build quality or music interface or quality of the w960 so it depends what your looking for.
