Hey Bono

I find the battery life on the 1020 a slight disappointment, but compared to a 1520 most phones will have disappointing battery life !! You know the OS well enough and im sure the camera will not be a problem but the battery life isn't the greatest, i need to charge mine daily at least.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter. I have 4 emails syncing ( 1 as items arrive and the other 3 hourly) and quite a few live tiles updating in the background (news, wpcentral , calendar, weather, etc)

Hope that gives you some idea of what to expect

Don't have a 1020 myself, a friend has one, but battery is good, not better or worse, than other smartphones, we're all used to daily charges. Battery of the 1520 is way better though, it's considerably larger too. For people, who take lots of pictures, the camera grip is an absolute must-have accessory, for extra battery and shutter.
Must say, this is with WP8, heard about some issues with battery on dev.preview WP8.1, but my friend hasn't updated his 1020 yet, nor did I with my 925. We're both busy with family, work, etc., don't have time to fiddle with our phones, they work flawlessly atm, so we'll wait for the official update.

I can absolutely attest to this! Do not buy the 1020 w/out the grip - not only does it have extra battery power and the obvious shutter button but I most often use it to stand the phone up on my desk while playing music. Although it makes the phone notably larger, it is pretty much always on my phone now.

Cheers guys. Am undecided yet. If i am honest i was worried about so many people relating to screen issues on the 1020 ie screen burn and also many report black blotches which was something to do with AMOLED. But maybe i am worrying too much?? I have also seen a Note 3 with screen burn in a shop but i guess we know why that happens. If screen burns happens would i be covered by the warranty??

^Everybody knows that! Sony has never claimed Z2 is better than Lumia 1020, or anyone here to be honest.

Is there any word on 1030? It's strange that there is absolutely nothing being said on this device. No leaks, nothing.

I was hoping for a modern OS running phone that beat the mighty 808.
