I can't seeing the VR being too good, it shouldn't come close to PSVR.

You know, i'm almost 1 year waiting to change my xperia L... Waiting that sony lounches that mid range that would make me change, but one year passed and nothing...
I thought that moment would be IFA2015 but no... Then MWC2016... But then again no, only XA with no fingerprint sensor, less ram, lower display than for example huawey p9 lite that is in the same price range...
I've considerated xperia XA but comparing with others in the same price range, similar specifications and built quality, i think it just doesn't worth the money...

Then i'll maybe wait for a miracle at IFA2016 but i fell i'll have another disapointment... I'm sincerely consedering leave sony and go for huawey
But damn i love sony

True! I am due for an upgrade and this is exactly what I feel.

That's probably how everyone feels who loves Sony.
I left them for Samsung Galaxy S7 and I am not happy with my phone. I don't feel I would be that much happier with the X-series the way things are right now.

I can also relate.

IMO; Sony has to catch the train for THE flagship of '17 by early adopting S830, 4K screen and 6GB RAM. Those are all specs that are speculated for Galaxy S8 and Sony can't afford to lag behind. If anything they should be first to deliver next gen specs coupled with great design and build quality and maybe some unique characteristics like good waterproofing/dustproofing standards.

Sony is seeing an listening the negative reviews and news all around the net of their stupid strategy with the X series... all reviews of X & X Performance are negative. Not to mention few other editorial too... not to say these are not good phones, but lack of Sony's touch and over pricing is just killing these phones and Sony Mobile business all together...

They desperately need to scrap all what they're thinking about the X series and the future of Z series and start again... or at least fix what they have done...

I'm not even sure do they care about their customer. If not, They will just continue to make ridiculous product forever.

Even if they dont bring the most cutting edge phone to the market, I hope they at least price their phones better. Was looking at OnePlus3. I dont see any reason to spend twice its money on a SONY...im not getting anything for it and if I was, the S7 Edge would be the one that makes sense. Dint like the Galaxy line up till S5 but S6 on wards, their fresh design and improved build quality is amazing.

IFA isn't far away, 8 weeks or so. Hopefully there will be a new compact in the works (both Z3 and Z5 Compacts were announced at IFA) and who knows what else if anything Sony will announce. Huawei have already sent out press invites so I'd imagine Sony will announce a date and time for their press conference soon.
