Hello. Im new to this forum, new to SYmbian phones and also new to SE phones . Im thinking of buying the G900 sometime next week or the week after that because of the good reviews Ive read in this forum. I just have some questions that needs to be answered for me to be totally sure about the phone.

1) How do you update the firmware? I read some posts before about SEUS. Is it a website? Or is it a software you get when you buy SE products?

2) Is there a risk of "bricking" the G900 when you incorrectly update your firmware?

3) Are there any major bugs that I should know about?

4) Which is more stable among these 3: C902, W760, G900

THanks guys

I have been contemplating buying this Phone as an upgrade over my current K750i. I have few questions though before I pay for this..

1. Does it make difference if I buy my phone in other region than I am currently in ? (example - While I am in India, I buy from HK). Does it have any impact on Warranty? Also, are firmware updates released regularly in all regions? It may be a good idea for some wise men to explain how this 'region' system works on SE phones.

2. What are the 'recommended' accessories on this phone? (like Bluethooth headset / Screen protector) ?

3. This will be my first smart phone. So, which softwares are 'must haves'? And other recommended utilities? What about Anti Virus / Anti-spam?

@ Anu'Barak

1) SEUS is a software and it stands for Sony Ericsson Update Service. You have to download it from SE's website.

To update the firmware, Download and install SEUS, run it, select your phone from the list, switch off your phone, press and hold the 'C" button, plug the USB cable to the phone.

2) i have never seen any one bricking there phone while updating with SEUS, its a child's play

3) none

4) C902, and W760 are A200 phones (java based), and G900 is UIQ phone (symbian based), i think G900 is pretty stable now.

hope this helps you.

Hey Rishone. Thanks very much for the fast response Your post was helpful especially on the updating firmware part. I guess i would be buying the G900 2nd week of August. Hopefully the price of the handset will go down at least a little by that time.
