Just got back and I'm in front of a PC again. Time to do some catching-up.
Hmmm, all too quiet around here at the moment...just wait 'till I've uploaded the N73 pics later...
@ Kryptik,
Hope you managed to sort out the damage incurred as a result of that storm's wrath, boet. Eish, I can empathise with such untimely reparations..
Glad to hear that the show went on to some extent, despite Murphy's unwelcome interventions. Good on them!

Hey guys. Yes, DVBH holds a lot of promise for the future of mobile tv. Anyway, my lucky brother is now doing a promotions job for Sony Ericsson at Liberty Midlands Mall in pietermaritzburg, and they've loaned him a w850 and a w950 for the week. I will post a comparison between the w950 and my m600 the coming weekend for anyone interested. Btw i can never go back to a normal phone again. The touchscreen, uiq3, jogwheel and ease of use in the m600i is uncomparable. The keypad is fantastic for texting. Cheers guys. Keep up the gr8 thread.

@Ama, how big a memory card are you using in your N73. I have just ordered me a 2gig one from Germany. I hope it will work without many hickups.

@ HOBBS,
Great to have you around here again. The new Sagem TV cellphone in esato news looks like a far more refined piece of equipment than their first offering; will be interesting to see how the new one performs in comparison:

@ Jitesh,
Also great seeing you here again bro. Sounds like you're as hooked on UIQ as I am.
@ Mario,
I've got a 1 Gig in the thing and it works fine, although I don't have tons of stuff on the thing at the moment. I can't foresee hassles with the 2 Gig, but I haven't tried one of these in my N73 yet.
Some of the pics taken with the N73 while on the camp in rural parts of Essex over the past 2 days:
WW2 searchlight 'pillbox' on Mersea (not 'Mersey' like the river along Liverpool) Island along the Essex coast:
Love this pic's composition, taken with the N73 along Mersea Island's coast yesterday:
Will post some interesting b&w and sepia N73 pics tomorrow night. (the subject matter suited these effects...and the results were pretty encouraging, to say the least.)
See y'all later.

@Ama Are you aware, the N73 can open .j2k encoded pictures too? For compatibility reasons it uses the good, old .jpeg. to encode.
I pay 300Rand for the 2Gig. I agree with you, 1gig is more then plenty thou.
Greetings from Jeffrey's Bay.

@ HOBBS,
I tend to gravitate towards the

UIQ smartphones, due to the advantages of touchscreen input.
However, the E61 has proven to be a very stable and reliable phone, certainly not as dogged or plagued by early firmware issues like the P990 and M600 were. That's not to say that these are not worth considering, particularly with the latest firmwares.
If you can live with the wide E61 dimensions and are not bothered by the lack of stylus input, it may be a good choice...there also seems to be far more freely available third party applications (Series 60) for the E61;
www.dotsis.com is a good starting point...
786KBR has first hand experience with the phones that you have on your shortlist; he may be the one to shed more light regarding any other pros and cons between these handsets.
BTW, the updated E61i should be out soon. (you reading this, celltech...?Your views?) Specs etc. can be found at
www.gsmarena.com .

@ HOBBS,
I think the Wanqa Man answered your question very well.Once you get hooked on UIQ,believe it's hard to go back to non-uiq.
I think the first 3 on your list should be stable by now.You have a tough one deciding there Bro!

Well the P990 is good, My choice from the lot. Second would be the W950 decnet phone all the specs, lots of memory nice looking to. E61 is good to, but just has the Nokio feel and Im not a fan of its menus, screens big but not good resolution.
Dont even consider the M600.
