Apple does not just add effects to their UI without thoroughly thinking the battery life. Parallax in iOS only works if you tilt the device not like on Android which is always on. You may say this new UI feature is just a gimmick but it changes actually the over all feel of the iOS. Not just a an ordinary live wall paper which drains battery. It is a much more sophisticated and well-though over feature of the iOS.

Didn't we have a dedicated thread for IOS7? let's stick with the topic subject please
It's good to see that Sony is giving PSM some attention, there had been numerous PSM smartphones since 2012 including HTC's OneX and One, yet we are yet to see a games that are worthy of the PlayStation moniker

@rss_ndrsn
and how often is your phone "not tilted" when you're holding it in hand? just saying.
PS4 in less than an hour! would be awesome if sony teased unannounced devices/phones just to demo PS4 features.. and also to kind of tease the tech guru sites that are all at E3.

How much of a focus has Sony put into the battery life of their flagships? We've had the xperia z, released right at the start of this year. With Honami now being the next flagship - has Sony made any more of an effort with focusing on improving the battery life than with the Z (not counting the bump to 3000mAh) ?

It was said earlier that they expect the battery life to be a matter of days, rather than hours. Whether they're talking about stamina mode or other improvements in battery efficiency, who knows.

Have you actually watched the iOS 7 promo video? If yes, you should now that it takes a certain angle for the parallax to work and it is only visible in certain parts of the UI. It will not go off easily.
Besides, the question about tilting the phone is quite stupid in my opinion. Basically, I had been an iPhone 4 user for three years and at the moment HTC One. I dont tilt my phone much to the same extent how the parallax work on iOS 7. Considering my phone I am using now is HTC One, which is way bigger compared to my iPhone 4. You are exaggerating a bit, you know.
One thing that I must address is that you might be confusing Android with iOS. With Android, live wallpaper is running continuously compared to iOS parallax it is not. So why are we having this discussion actually? It is clear that Apple has done a marvelous job in updating iOS, especially with the parallax, whether you admit it or not. Something that Android has to catch up with.
