I've been trying to update my P910i with the latest Organizer. I've got VMware on my linux laptop running WinXP SP2 with the latest Java.
The Seus_Setup is installed and the DSS station is recognized. In fact I've been able to back it up w/o problem. But when I try to update the FW of the phone the cradle isn't detected.
Has anyone gotten this to work?

Here:

and here:
http://www.optixx.org/?sectionid=4 you can find help to do this in Linux.
I have never tried to use windows in vmware (see no point when I got several machines running).
Seems like you go through a lot of trouble just to install this in windows through linux instead of just using linux or windows.
My guess is that you haven't installed the correct drivers in windows (if that is possible through linux). Check the Device manager to see if there are unsupported/no drivers for your hardware. Might not be installed correctly.
If it is installed correctly, then check your linux logs to see if it's being blocked there (the cralde must go through linux before it reaches windows if I remember corect).
Good luck and I hope this helps.
Edit:
Ah, sorry. I now see that you wanted to update the fw and not just synch it. From what I know, there is no safe way to update the fw (if even possible under linux). So this could be what makes the SE site loose contact with the cradle (just a hunch). Let us know if you succeed.
