I've got Win2000 (SP2) and Outlook 2000 installed on my PC. Using the administrator account I installed the latest version of XTND Connect downloaded. I did a quick test to make sure everything worked using the administrator account and it did.

However, as the PC is used by a few different people there are different logon accounts and 2 of us have T68i's. When either of us logon using our personal accounts we get a message that a connection cannot be made with T68i, Outlook is not the default email client, contact your administrator. However Outlook is the default client.

Has anyone come across this problem, its driving me nuts. I need to be able to connect using personal accounts. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Any help, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I almost have the same problem with you, but I'm running MS OUTLOOK XP instead. Usually an error occurs when I try to synchronize my phone using XTNDconnect with OUTLOOK. It says, 'MAPI Logon failed.' It also says that the error is caused by "outlook express," it being set as a Simple MAPI client, and that I should change the configuration under "outlook express" tools--options menu. Now the problem is there seems no MAPI settings/ configuration under the Options menu. I could not find it there! Oh well, does anyone have a solution to this problems? Please help. Thanks.

Hi dunn333,

I sorted out half my problem, this might sort out your problem fully.
Go into Internet Explorer, select Tools, Internet Options. Select the Programs tab and change your EMail drop down to Microsoft Outlook. That will sort out the message you are getting, don't know if you will have any further problems.

I now have the problem where I can connect and sync using the administrator account on Win2000, but if I log on with my personal account it appears to connect to the phone, the sync bar appears on the phone but xtnd Connect hangs and no data gets transferred. Anyone any idea why this might be happening?

@jester, thanks man! But i think i already tried that, and still the same error occurs. Anyway i would still try it again. This is the exact error message that appears everytime i try to synchronize: \"MAPI logon failed. Currently outlook express is set as simple mapi client. Remove this setting and try again. hi! i finally found a solutuin to my problem...
i reinstalled XTNDconnect and viola, everythings working fine already.
I hope you could also find a way to fully solve your problem. Good luck mate!
