After trying dozens of times, I have been able to access my Yahoo! mail account on my T68. If yours doesn't work, keep trying and don't give up. I almost did.

In the email options, configure an account

Connect using: a data account that you have previously successfully set up (able to surf wap pages on). Note, if you follow these instructions and you still get "Server not found", your service provider may not support POP/ SMTP. Voicestream in the US supports it only with their circuit switched, not their GPRS data at the time of this posting.

Pop3 server: 216.136.173.10
Pop3 port: 110

Mailbox, Password: (your Yahoo! username and password)

SMTP Server: 216.136.173.12
SMTP Port: 25

Email address: (the reply to address of your choice)
From Name, Signature (whatever you want)

Note: You have to specifically enable POP access to your Yahoo! mail account by visiting the options area of your mail account on the web. It's listed under "POP access and forwarding". Failure to do so will result in an error message indicating an incorrect login or password on the phone when sending/receiving.

Also: Some international Yahoo! users are not able to set up pop access. You'll for sure be able to if your email address ends in @yahoo.com (as opposed to @yahoo.de or something).

Note: You MUST have the same login and password for both the POP and SMTP server. Your ericsson phone uses these login and password values for both servers. You GET mail from the POP server, and SEND it through the SMTP server. If you have two email accounts and think you can use one for the pop IP address and the other for the SMTP IP address, it will only work if your login and password are IDENTICAL for the two accounts.

Good luck!
-Michael

Hi there...

I tried it, but it does not work..
there si a rumour around that it is possible, but then the email account is no longer free, you pay yahoo an amount of US $20 per year, and then the pop3 settings will work...

but thanks for the info

Depends on the Yahoo! domain, yahoo.com is run by the U.S. and they will charge you for POP access now. However, other localities like yahoo.co.uk do not charge for POP (currently).
