Does anyone know where i can get k700i firmware files without paying for them.. or at least only pay a small amount i have a T28 serial cable if some firmwares are only compatible with certain cables. my email is 'esato AT markst DOT co DOT uk'

you can update the k700 firmware on the
website using sony ericsson update service(SEUS) if you have a dss-25 or dss-20. SEUS is free

Well, problem is........everyone who has firmware now crypts them so they can only be used with that tool. So the question is what tool do you want to use?
Of course you could flash some firmware and while doing that sniff the I/O of the communication then convert the raw hex bytes from the "write" to a binary file you can use and analyse with anything
