Hi,

Ive been doing endless hours of searching but cant find what i'm looking for

Heres what i'm basically trying to do. I have a lot of .avi files on my computer and would like to take them off as they are taking up a lot of space.

I want to burn them onto CD-R's (80Mins/700mb). but am having trouble. Is these a way to convert them into a VCD format and still fit them on 700mb CD? Bearing in mind that each file is already approximately 700mb.

I do not particualrily want them to be played in a DVD player, only on computer. How can i burn them onto a CD in such a way so that they can be run "off the CD". I.e the CD can be inserted into any computer and the video file can be watched.

I have Nero 6 Ultra edition but when i try and burn a "VCD" it converts the file into 900mb big

Any help is much Appreciated. Thanks

Rgds

Use UHARC to compress them. Try converting them to some other format like mpg then compress and burn This message was posted from a T68i

Compress the file using Xvid or DivX or something,so that u have much space left and include the codec also in the cd or alternatively burn with media player classic (from SF) and make an autorun.ini to open it with mplayer classic,i think itll work well.

How big are the .avi files? If you only want to watch them on a computer, and they're less than about 640Mb can't you just use nero to burn them as a data disk, ie just burn the .avi directly? When you put the cd in, the autorun menu should give you the option to play the file(s) in one or more media players?
