month old ish, and already the joystick is becoming unresponsive, the enter button hardly works anymore.

bit annoying because my only option is to get it sent for repair and that leaves me phoneless.

stupid joystick and all its stupid stupidness and such.

surely a month is far too short a period for it to start failing?

It all depends on the usage, the phones that I have with joysticks(T630, K700i, T68i) are all useless, they didn't even last six months. With my K750 I'm being extremely careful not to ruin it. I think the S700i has the best design keypad, only problem is to send a text or dial a number you have to open the flip. I think SE should definitely get rid of the joystick and change it to individual buttons on their future releases.

i know the jostick is usage dependant, but i can't possibly have used it so much so that it equivaltes to about 6 months to a years usage. pity really because the phone is ace.

i would claim on the insurance but i'd have to pay the excess.

as i do work in a major phone dealer i'm sure i could sort something out, but why should i , you know?

My K700 joystick started getting hacked out about three months ago (that's after about 9 months use). It still works, but is getting to the point where you have to be really precise with it. But the joystick on the k700 was never 100% even from new. It's always been a little unresponsive.

The K750 however is really good, way better than my K700 was when it was new, so I'm hoping my useage isnt too harsh and that the K750 will last atleast a year.

i had mine fixed twice...

i guess it was to be expected though.

I really like the joystick design. It's the main reason I chose an SE when I first went to SE but the joysticks are rubbish. Every SE phone I've had the joystick slowly starts to degrade.

Want to know what's sickening about it too? I have a 2001 Panasonic GD95 and it's been through more abuse than any of my Sony Ericssons and the joystick still works exactly the same as when it was new. Not a single problem with it. In terms of quality, it's the best phone I've ever had.

the fact is the mechanical aspects of SE phones are not that great quality. Ergonomics and design and good feature sets are SE strong points.

the electronics is good quality and has good shock resistance, but mechanical aspects let it down - basically if you drop it you could be lucky or you could be unlucky. Blokias can be drop kicked without to much problem

After a week the joystick of my K750 started squeaking when pressing it down ("south").
A bit dissapointing, but whatever... as long as it's responsive I won't send it in for repair.
