I just tested my K750i on holiday (next to my IXUS S500). And the photo's were just great. Except for the low light photo's. Almost all low light foto's have stripes on them. I think it is a compression problem but I am not sure.

You're thoughts please. Is it a compression problem (so wait for new firmware) or should I return the phone and get a new one?

Thanks in advanced for all the wise advice

Henk

Sample 2, Low(er) light photo (part of)

yup it gets worse in the dark, this issue came with the newer firmwares, they didn't have it in the previous ones

So I should not worry to much? Everyone is having this problem? So it should be fixed with the new firmware (or the 1 after that)?

Just to be clear... Is this a relatively new issue, definitely not present in the older firmware? (And thus we can hopefully expect a fix in the next update).

I had just assumed it was a hardware issue with the camera being ineffective for low light conditions, and thus it'd never be fixed.

Excellent . Well, presuming SE don't continue to deteriorate the quality with each new firmware as they have so far!

You've got to remember that the JPG's have been compressed a lot. You get a full 2MP pic weighing in at around 500k or so, whereas it could in reality be a few Megs.
