Can i download software for my computer in order for it to support bluetooth? Or do i need to buy the hardware? As i am unsure if my computer supports Bluetooth™.

Bluetooth is hardware... so to use it your computer either need to have it built in (mostly on newer laptops) or buy a Bluetooth USB adapter

Win XP SP2 has the BT drivers( software) built in...If you are running Win XP with SP2, then just purchase a BT adapter and plug it in and the PC/laptop should auto detect the hardware and install it

Yes that is what I am running: windows xp home edition sp2. I will look at purchasing one as i am having no such luck with my usb data cable. I have requested help here:
