Hi! I've just noticed sony coming out with all these minidisc and mp3 players that support atrac3 compression for music files, allowing better compression of music. Does anyone know if the k750i or w800i recognize these files? Or are any of the upcoming walkman phones compatible with atrac3 files? Thanks!

short answer, no.

However it suports AAC which is higher compression for the same audio quality than atrac

No worries. dbpoweramp has great compression with excellent quality for converting cd or mp3's to AAC - do a search of esato - their are heaps of threads on producing AAC files for your K series phone.
