Just wanted to warn anyone considering purchasing the K750i or heck any phone not released in the US of A. USA will take forever to fix your phone, if you are lucky, otherwise you'll be stuck in limbo.

They'll say that Solectron has ordered parts/is ordering parts/is waiting on parts, and keep saying it is WIP (Work in progress). They will refuse to give you any answers as to why some K750i parts were received while others aren't.

Also they claim that they will not count the phone as a lemon if it is unfixable, instead they will send it back to the customer.

My K750i has been at the repair center since July 1st 2005, and it is still "Work In Progress".

Anyway, please be very aware that if something goes wrong with your non-US purchased phone, then getting it fixed is not an easy matter even if you are lucky.

I bought it from MyWorldPhone.com, they offer a 7 day return policy, but the phone failed on the 10th day.

I almost had my Z600 sent in to have it repaired. The problem with the phone was that when I had the phone set to "Active Flip" that the phone would sometimes shut itself off when I flipped the phone open to answer a call.

I called the US SE center to see if I could have it sent in to be repaired. When I asked how long it would take, they said a minimum of 30 days.

At that time, I've read some horror stories of folks sending in their phones only to get it either damaged cosmetically (but the problem was fixed) not having the problem resolved, or sometimes not having the phone returned at all. I didn't want to risk it, so I just lived with having that "small" problem with my Z600.

I think the best that could be done is if the phone's damage is extensive, I would probably sell it for parts. It's doubtful that anyone would buy a pre-owned phone (that's damaged) so the next best thing that could be done is sell it piece by piece (not selling the damaged part of course!). I'm sure somebody could use an antenna or a keypad or something.

I sent it to for repairs. MyWorldPhone.com clearly states that they are not responsible after the 7th day. There is an one year warranty that SE USA does honour, but what good is it if the phone is not fixed?

Well, apparently for the people at SE USA the main solution to all cell phones is to do "a master reset" they recommended that to me when I got my new k750 but the camera application wasn't opening. Since it was a hardware problem (and I realised that later...) of course the reset was needless and also it ended up being really frustrating for I lost a LOT of stuff: games, themes, the demo tour video, etc... Anyway, I was able to send back the phone and got a replacement.
It really sucks that solecron is taking so long to fix yours!!

victorh017, did you have to send in a card with the IMEI number as proof of purchase to SE USA for the replacement? where did you send it for service.

My k750i has started to turn itself off around once a day.
I bought it off qpaxx or x1387 from hong kong on ebay and didn't get that card. my friend brought his in for service in china and they really hassled him about that card before they'd service it. also, since the phone isn't released in the USA, will they still service it?

Has anyone else successfully gotten service? can you tell us where you call and/or send the phone for service?

Thanks!!
