Got to The file manager,
Click Sounds,
Scroll down to the MP3 or Tune that you are looking for,
Click "More"
Click "Use as"
Click "Message alert"
Hey Presto!

Yeah but it gets cut after 9 seconds of playing. I want it to play for more than a minute. Isn't that ever going to be possible?

It's a SMS alert....why would anyone want it to sound for over 9 seconds. Most alerts are like 3 seconds max. There are shed loads of .amr on the web that you can download for nowt that make really good, fun and non annoying text alerts. Just be thankful that SE have now given us the option to modify the alert tone in the first place.

Yeah, well with my P900 the text message alert goes off for more than a minute. I like it that way. But then it's a fair trade with K750i's badass features.

Fair enough if you like it that way. Wouldn't mind betting though that the people around you get a bit pissed off hearing a minute of the Ace of Spades or whatever whenever you get a text:)

Does anyone know where can I download the alert sounds of previous SE models (K700) so I can use them on the K750?

Hey Victor...LOL. Sorry can't answer that but has made me laugh. We have all been begging SE for yonks to allow us to modify SMS tone and you want the originals now they have done it....good luck with the hunt!
