I have set up the Vodafone Email GPRS data Comm account on the T68i :
apn : internet
id : web
pass : web
and it all works Ok (through the email client).... that it till I knock the phone off then back on and the account has disaappeared, it then says no account set up when I check my email, but it was working before I knocked the phone off perfectly.
Any ideas? why would it work Ok till it was switched off and looses it's account?
Thhanks for any solutions

This problem with connection settings has been posted numerous times before - you didn't get your phone from a Vodafone shop, did you? If you did, take it back and they will replace it for you.

Has it? I've never seen it but maybe it hasn't been that obvious?

The above is a current post of a similiar problem, I'll add an answer (similiar to below) to it as no-one has posted anything in reply to it.
I've never encountered this problem with any Vodafone U.K. T68i (and I've seen dozens of them).
I have seen the forum post several enteries regarding connection settings that disappear after a power off on the phone, and sometimes another operator's settings that were previously deleted always re-appear again.
The only thing I can suggest is that the White Paper for the T68i states that Factory pre-configuration allows WAP/CSD possibility to lock to a setting - basically when you refresh your phone by switching it off then on, the locked settings are re-initialised and any settings you have entered may be lost.
Not exactly useful, but it's an explaination.
I do know that Vodafone in the U.K. have not altered their T68i phones, which is why I asked if you purchased your phone from Vodafone or it you sourced it elsewhere.

Yeah, I bought the phone from Vodafone. I spoke to Vodafone technical and they said that the phone should not do this, but they don't know what's the matter with it. I took it back to the Vodafone store and they changed it for a new one. (this one is the latest firware version and it's really diffeent to my other one, the lights are not a purple-blue ish, they are more of a turqoise colour and much brighter!) Cool
Thanks for the replies

There have been numerous posts about this problem (see
www.t68.info) - I have an Ericsson T68m - firmware updated to R2E006. The phone is on the UK Orange network. I and several others have noticed that you lose all but the "fixed" Wap and GPRS settings whenever you turn the phone on / off - this however is the first occasion that I have heard of a Vodafone, unlocked and un "messed with" having a similar problem. Interesting. I am afraid that you will get no help from Sony Ericsson Support - or your network provider - who will just blame the problem on each other. I would be interested to hear what software you are running at the moment - Sony Ericsson have released the R2F006 software which (I hope) may cure the problem. BTW, to check your software (and to have a neat display of flashing lights in test mode) try the following >* is your joystick direction and * the star key - enter service info then software info. regards

I have an early T68i with software version R2A014 and I do not have this problem of disappearing connection settings. I believe it is a factory setting as the T68i does support this feature.
I'm glad "Eric's Son" got a new phone, if you bought your T68i from a Vodafone store then they should change it for you!

I as well have the same problem (the internet settings get erased after I turn the phone off). This t68i is unlocked and I didn't have the problem before I did a master reset, just after.
Now I can't ever turn my phone off for fear of losing my settings. That bites, SE should fix this problem under warrantee!!!!!!

I have done a MASTER RESET on my phone before and it hasn't affected my phone.
You can always try and send it back to where you bought it, if the connection settings on your phone was not locked by the network operator then it's a fault that should be repaired - but if it resets to a default connection then that's the way the operator who sold the phone intended it to work and it's not a fault (unfortunately).
