I have a k750i and a gmail account, i can check my mail fine from the k750 mail client. But i cant send mails... Whenever i try it says "Sending e-mail" for a while, maybe 5-6 minutes, then it stops and just says "Unable to send mail".
Whats wrong?
I think i have everything setup properly:
Connect Using: TeliaSurfPort
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Server: pop.gmail.com
Incoming Port: 995
Encryption: TLS/SSL
Mailbox:
Myaccount@gmail.com
Password: Mypassword
Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing Port: 465
Email Address:
Myemail@gmail.com
Download: Headers & text
Copy Outgoing: Off
Check Interval: Off

All the settings look ok - try going to the Sony Ericsson configurer and resend "email" settings for Telia - then use the received "connect with" and try again.

Dont you also need to have smtp authentication? I have it enabled in profimail and sending works fine.

There are no options for "smtp authentication" on my k750i

Well, then try using your gsm operator smtp server instead of gmails. Just change in tha account settings.

Ok, i got it working, there really was an option for turning on the encryption for the smtp server (missed this the first time), and now it works! Thanks!

Sounds like you have already set up authenticated SMTP as you do both TLS/SSL settings to start with. Are you sure however that "Teliasurfport" is the correct connection to use? For example- I have different settings for email and web browsing on both Orange and O2 -

pleased to hear

What's really neat with gmail through the K750i is that sent items from your phone are stored in your Gmail sent folder - cool!!

I'm using the following settings:
Connect Using: O2 WAP GPRS
Protocol: POP3
Incoming Server: pop.gmail.com
Incoming Port: 995
Encryption: TLS/SSL
Mailbox:
Myaccount@gmail.com
Password: *********
Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing Port: 465
Email Address:
Myemail@gmail.com
Download: Headers & text
Copy Outgoing: Off
Check Interval: Off
... and all I'm getting is "Server not found";
I've double-checked the settings... any ideas?
