Ladies and Gents, it is with my head hung low that I post this message. I will confess of my sins and stupuidity and hope that you can all forgive me! ;o)
6 weeks ago I fell out with Vodafone (UK) because after 8 years of being a customer I finally could no longer stand their useless customer service. My P910i got damaged and it was a right nightmare trying to get a new one even though I spend £100+ per month.
In my anger I stormed across the road to the O2 shop where I got 2 new handsets, one for me and one for my fiance. I got her the K750i and of course she is delighted with it, really is a great phone.
I, however, got the O2 XDA IIs. I loved the look of it, the full scale functionality, the prospect of seemless, easy integration with all my PC apps. Wonderful. Only its a sh*t phone. The first one crashed 5-6 times a day so I took it back and got another IIs. That crashed 5-6 times a day so after 2 weeks of this I got an XDA IIi which by all accts is a better model. I still have that after a month and can report that it is sh*t sh*t sh*t!!! The IIi crashes 4-5 time a day now and I just cant tolerate it no more. I do have a nice 1GB SD card for it though which was its potential saving grace, only the card system in the phone also crashes regularly so you have to eject the card and replace it back in again. Particularly annoying when you are wactching a film or listening to music!
So I find myself in a very dumb position.
I cannot tolerate the uselessness of the XDA range and I would wholeheartedly suggest that no one EVER EVER buys one cos they really are rubbish. O2 have been very good though and said I can have any phone I want as a free replacement.
I actually have a brand new boxed P910i sat at home so dont need a new one from them (yet) but I dont know what to do. Perhaps we could have a little brainstorm here.
I currently have 1 x S700i and 1 x P910i brand new and boxed at home. So shall I:
1 - Get any old phone that O2 do sent to me as my replacement and use that?
2 - Use my new P910 that I have at home?
3 - e-Bay off the P910 that I have and use the new phone I choose from O2?
4 - Use the P910 and e-bay the new phone that they send me? - If so which new phone should I get?
5 - Sell the P910, the S700 and the new one they send and by a Treo off e-bay/elsewhere? (Which O2 dont mind apparently)
6 - Get another P910i from O2 and sell that one?
Which current unit I wonder would fecth the most money on e-bay?
Oh the choices. I do definitly want Smartphone with good calendar and media functionality but I just cant make a bloody decision!!
I am sorry for ever moving away from the P series, I have used them for 2-3 years and have always loved them, I just fancied a change. That'll teach me though.
Remember - Never ever ever EVER buy and XDA - They're rrrrrrrrrrubbish!!!!
Nice to be back though...
Fronty.

Hiya Frontman,
I too have tried them all and the solution I have finally settled on is the K750i with a iPAQ 4700.
The K750i gives a wonderful feeling of quality, amazing camera and just the right size. The iPAQ for me is the only Pocket PC, its has a awesome screen, there's even an app to run the resolution at a true 640x480, if you work with spreadsheets or browse the web then its the best handheld solution money can buy.HP are to be releasing an upgrade to Windows Mobile 5 soon so nice to know it won't be outdated a week after buying
With Bluetooth running between you have all the email, and web functionality you need as well.
I guess personal tastes come into the equation on these sorts of devices but certainlly the combination of phone and pda, bluetooth inbetween is a winner with me !
Good Luck

Cheers Tailor!
I think I might abandon the PDA requirement for a while you know. I dont really want to be carrying around two units, thats the issue.
I hope this isnt blasphemous, but I'm beginning to quite like the Treo! Its small(er), great feel to it, good keyboard and functionality too. what do you think?

I like the look of the Treo but never got on with the PalmOS. I tried the HP 6340 which is similar to the XDA but amongst over things found it's too big when you go out.
This was a key factor in going for the two devices. I also wanted a decent camera so the k750i solved that one for me too.
Popping to the shops / pub with a PDA as a phone was too much of a negative for me, I would leave it in the car and then that defeats the point of a mobile !

But totally gives pikey thieves something to go looking for! I know what you mean mate.
I think its going to be a case of going back to the P910i.
So, with that in mind, O2 will send me ANY phone I want, which I will then probably sell.
Does anyone here have anything they particularly want? I could order it and you could buy it? Or I could just lob it on e-bay for a 1st come 1st served.

I'm thinking the 8800 might be the way forward too. Seems a fairly basic phone though?!

I beleive the score with the 8800 is that it doesnt do everything but what it does do is the best. Apart from the camera ... lol
I like the idea of the scratch proof screen. Its too expensive but if they will give you one for free then wow-wee.
Either sell it for big bucks or use it with a PDA
