It is not possible to do this yourself unless you have the correct hardware to flash the device, specifically a Fighter or Cruiser which cost several hundred dollars.
Have a look at the link posted.
I had mine done last week (at Above Connections) which was already sim free but wanted some of the benefits of a P910i such as being able to use a Memory Stick greater than 128 meg in size.
Works a treat and the known Bluetooth headset problem does'nt affect the one i am using.
Costs 20 quid and takes 20 minutes although you can post them etc.

Foxhunter...a lot of the current satnav programs are only for the P910 (or require multiple memory cards for a P900 with split maps), so a P905 can open up new software without the expense of also changing phones.
