> T68i and Jornada Pocket PC woes

I got a T68i yesterday on Orange, and have been trying to get it to talk over IR with my Jornada 525. It doesn't want to know.
My Jornada talks just fine to my Nokia 6210. My T68i and Nokia 6210 will merrily beam cards to each other. So no single unit's IR seems to be at fault. The T68i's IR is turned on - and I can't find any other relevant settings.
But the T68i just will not communicate over IR with the Pocket PC for ANYTHING.
I've tried PeaceMaker Pro - nothing happens.
I've tried mPhone - nothing happens, although the 6210 works just fine with this.
I've tried connecting to the net using the T68i - the Jornada refuses to see the T68i over the infrared for this purpose too...
Yet I know that the IR port on the T68i will talk to my 6210, and my Pocket PC will happily talk to my 6210 too.
Anybody any ideas what's going on?

I use a Jornada 568. I guess the difference is only the memory. Anyway, I sent a Contact (business card) from my T68i to my Jornada and it worked fine. The Jornada received the file and saved into my Contacts list.
I did this by asking the T68i to send the contact via IR. Simultaneouly, I asked the Jornada to receive the file via IR (Programs - Receive via IR).
I haven't tried the T68i IR to access the Internet yet because for this purpose, I use my Nokia 8890. I will try some day.
Try also resetting your Jornada. Just in case, reset switch is at the back of the unit and you need your stylus to press the button. There may be a glitch in the Pocket PC software.
Let me know what you find out.

The 568 is quite unlike the 525 unfortunately. The 568 is one of the flash new ones with PPC 2002 running on it. The 525 has only the PPC 2000 OS.
I have seen lots of people posting about successfully using PPC 2002 machines with the T68i - but not HP made PPC 2000's.
I've tried as many combinations of sending contacts between the phone and Jornada, and vice versa, with no success. I've tried every setting I can find - to no avail.
Has ANYBODY had a Jornada 520, 525, 540, 545 or 548 working with an Ericsson T68i over infrared?

How about... has anybody successfully sent a contact FROM a T68i to a Nokia 6210? My 6210 chatters away happily with my Jornada come hell or high water. My T68i will recieve from the 6210, but not SEND to.
If sending from a T68i to a 6210 via infrared SHOULD work but doesn't, then I think I have to suspect the IR port on my T68i is knackered as far as transmitting goes.

As far as I a concerned mine works, for sending of business card via IR using a jornada series 548. Though I am having problem using it on fax application especially on the receiving aspect but I can successfully transmit fax via IR, I guess it is software related I mean my fax software is at fault

I met the same problem with you when I'm tring to get connected
with 525 and T68. Of coz , T68 and 525 cannot discover each other.
I can only exchange .vcf with my palm. I don't know how to solve the problem . I Emailed to HP for support, but they didn't give me any reply till now.

it works brilliantly here.. I couldn't get it to work though without mphone software after my T68i firmware was upgraded. thx to mphone it worked:)
I take it you set mPhone software to the Erricsson T39/T68 phone setting and connection to Infared in the Tools, Settings section of mPhone?

What software must be used on the PPC device?
I have searched the "globe" for this kind of software - but not found any - the only working solution so far is to use the xtdndconnect thing with a PC and sync both devices with the PC.
If theres anyone good programmers out here - I would be happy to pay a lot to be able to sync the calendar between my PPC2002 with my T68i (I have software for syncing the contacts)

in sending files, go to file explorer, just tap and hold the file u want to send then choose beam via IR. be sure you have a picture viewer application like resco, acdsee for pocket pc, etc. to view the file from your pocket pc. themes, and ringtones are not supported.
set your baud rate in your connections to 115,200. that should boost up gprs speed.
