> Airtel "Net on Phone" to browse internet from PC?
Bookmark topic
Hi all!
I heard from one of my friends that the Airtel Net on Phone (Rs.99 per month on pre-paid cards) can be used to browse the internet from PC using a 6600 or 7610 or any SE GPRS phone.
Is this true? Is it even possible? He mentioned something like WAP GATEWAY HACKING or something of that sort.
Thanks for any help.

No, he said it can be done just with PRE paid Net on Phone. (Rs.99)
Not GPRS in Post paid (Rs.600).
Any hints?

Hey buddy ! What is the official name of the scheme ur friend is using. The are 2 kind of services provided by AirTel (i think).
1.Mobile Office - thats full fledged GPRS (PC + WAP). Rate varies across different states. May be its Rs99 @ place where ur friend lives.
2. AirTel Live - now its free service and only limited to AirTel own portal. But i know a scheme to break AirTel firewall to access full wap on mobile:-D but don't know on PC.

This is a scheme called NET ON PHONE for Rs.99 per month on pre-paid cards only.
You get a wap gateway ( i dunno what it actually means), but you can access google.com and ALL HTML webpages, NOT just wap pages. From my mobile, I am able to access all webpages with the built-in browser in nokia 3660. If a wap version of a page is available, it loads (for example, if you type yahoo.com, you get the wap yahoo). But, other html sites like rediff and indiatimes open normally.
Also, none of the other applications like mail client or messengers (from mobile) work. So, I guess they have blocked every port except that for accessing webpages.
Any ideas?
