> Removing Scratches (From Screen)
Bookmark topic
I have an ipod and have been using brasso (wadding) to remove scratches from the screen and white parts and back, very successfully.
I Started pollishing yesterday and the results mean my ipod is beginning to look new again.
I was trying to do the same with my s700i screen, however when i rub brasso on the screen it seems to make the scratches worse. Obviously i have stopped on my phone now, but need to find a way to reduce the scratches.
Has anyone got a technique or any advice that i should try??

Try regular toothpaste. Works for superficial scratches.

displex is a product which seems highly rated by members here as it gets a mention in
almost all screen scratch threads
never tried it myself but 70,000 esato members can't be wrong!

The scratch remover works, it polishes off the plastic. Be sure to polish long enough or you'll have an even more scratched screen. And do not polish on what does not have to be polished.
the above is what another member quoted in one of the searched threads, perhaps this is where im going wrong.

Whatever you do, stay away from the Brasso, it's much too abrasive. In my neck of the woods i haven't come across any commercial cleaners for mobiles per se, so i'd advise you to read the comments of other members who've used commercial polishers. But plz plz plz not the Brasso...

Be careful. The screen on the Pxxx is soft. You can dig deeper holes by using something too hard. I have been using: Novus (#2 Fine Scratch Remover) and Novus (#1 Plastic Clean and Shine). It is a bit expensive but it works great on all of my phones and and iPod.
@Gregface
Dude,
I posted some great stuff that I use to clean my iPods and phones. The screen on the s700 is not like a normal screen I think. From what I understand it is scratch resistant, so using Brasso might damage it. Do a Google search for Novus, add: Scratch Remover and you should get some ideas where to buy it. It was recommended as the #1 product to repair the surfaces of an iPod.
