> W800i problem - 'calls dropped'
Bookmark topic
I purchased the W800i a week ago and only today (the 7th day) I'm getting calls dropped after approx. 5 seconds or so. This applies to both outgoing and incoming calls.
Sometimes, I can't even make a call: the phone 'attempts' to call out then stops! I tried resetting the phone to no avail.
By the way, the signal strength was at maximum during all attempts and my firmware is R1L002.
I thought it was a local network problem, but the telco folks denied having any such problems after I called their helpdesk. Also, I used my existing SIM card on another mobile phone (not SE) and I could call out with no problems. So a network problem can be ruled out.
Has anyone experienced this?

I'm using the W800i now for two months (Vodafone Netherlands) and have never seen an issue like this. Your firmware is up to date and the latest released. So that can't be the problem.

Old SIM-cards are known to cause trouble in some new phones. Has to do with voltages and other electricity parametres in both the phone and the SIM. Older SIM's were made when phones operated on higher voltage levels, and are not perfectly adapted to the characteristics of new handsets. If nothing else helps, get a new SIM-card.
