> P910 vs K750i PC Suite problems

Hi,
I have recently bought a P910 and my wife a K750i. Both come with software to sync with outlook, both work on the PC and Sync as advertised. BUT if you install both sets of software at the same time the PC will only recognise the last installed phone and MPM will not recognise the other when connected. So one has to uninstall K750i suite and reinstall P910i or vice versa to get a sync. Deeply unsatisfactory. Running XP Pro with SP2 if that helps.
I assume this is a COM port issue but the software setup does not allow changes on install and I don't know how to change it post install.
Anyone know how to solve this?

I have the same setup - what i did was sync my p910 with my K750i - then either use different software to sync to or simple do a full backup of the k750, whilst maintaining the p910i with outlook.

I just purchased a J300 and was told that I could use same cable as for P910. Could not get it work in beginning (pc could not connect J300) but after some talk with SE support I was told to untick USB port when used J300. It worked after restarted the device but don´t know if it can help you guy´s with your problem.

well without having done this myself i can only half garuntee it. my idea would be to run seperate accounts on your windows xp machine. one for you and one for your wife. on each account install the version of pc suite that applies to you.

How do you install the software to just one user profile? That was going to be my solution, but the install software doesn't seem to give you any options to do this. I don't really want all my wife's contacts in my phone and vice versa so it makes sense for us to use different .PST files to sync to. I did try and do this (successfully) by loading the K750 files in her profile, but when I loaded the P910 files in my profile they appeared in every profile, giving us the same problem. Tips on deploying to a single user anyone?
BTW it's not just sync'ing that won't work - the SE MPM simply doesn't recognise that the first installed phone is attached, so I can't even back the non-working one up either (or swap my music/video/photos/games etc between the phone and PC).

Can't say I have an issue here with the pc suite 1.7.7 and the pc suite 3.1.1 on the same machine.
When using the non p series, untick the com port/s in the phone connection link. If the MPM does nto pick it up open up the sony ericsson file manager and the pc should attempt to connect to the phone.
If it doesn't have a look at yoru device manager, enable the com ports in the MPM that the cables are installed on.
You may need to play around with it a little but it does work.
