Ive heard that when you write a text on the K750 you dont get a countdown like you do with Nokia. I know Motorola doesnt do it either but warns you when you get to the last few characters. I was wondering is there some way of getting a countdown on it or is it something SE phone cant do? I send alot of texts and like to know how many Im sending.

when it goes into the 2nd sms a little sign comes up in the top saying sms 2.
but theres no 160 count down like on nokia. you may have to enable long sms or max in the settings

On my K750 when I type a text I get a box top right with the number of remaining characters when I have typed 140 or more characters (20 left).
Also, while typing words with predictive text on, a box appears showing how many other words are available for the characters you've typed.
So, yes, you do get a character countdown but not until there's 20 or less characters remaining.

There is indeed a SMS counter under the "calls" tab in the settings menu, it lets you know how many SMS, MMS, Data calls, and voice calls you have made/sent.
And like it's been mentioned before, as soon as you start typing your last 20 characters a tiny pop-up window will appear on the right upper corner letting you know how many char. you have left.

Thats something my Nokia hasn't got. Glad Ive order the W800i now. Just cant wait to get it tho it might be thursday now as DHL or 02 wont redirect it to my work!!
