OK I was going to Alton towers so I didnt want to take my expensive fone so I slapped my sim into a 3310 (or is it a 3330? dont think that matters).
Anyway heres the deal, I put the sim back into my p910i and now the only way to recieve an SMS is to turn it off and on.
Well I say recieve but its obvious the fone recieves them (for example I can hear my speakers interfearing) but it hides the messages (they ust rnt there!).
Help!
Thanks
Andy

i think oxygen phone manager might be able to do this. do a google search for it. you need infrared or bluetooth on your pc though.

I have a similar problem:

1. my p910i sees text messages only after a power on/off
2. this is not handset related, just replaced my phone yesterday
3. there is a total 1040 SMS in inbox/sent/draft

One of the guys at vodafone helped a lot (thanks Dave!). He mentioned that the messages are bounced back to the service center with an "handest store full" error, but they will be pushed regardless of the available memory if you restart the phone.

This explanation seems valid. I would like to know why a phone with 48MB of free memory would limit the total message size (including email) to 1325 KB ???

Regards,

J

PS Scorpian what is your experience in moving the text to the PC?

Check that the SMSC is set correctly, its normally read off the SIM. Your nokia may have put a duff one in.

Try deleting some (a lot ) of the SMS that you dont need and then see if that fixes the problem. Also those amounts of SMS take up quite a bit of internal memory so you can free some of it up by getting rid of the SMS, unless you need every single one which is a different matter
