Hi there guys, I just a v800 unlocked and I was wondering if doing a master reset would mean I need to get it unlocked again? I dont know how good a job this was as still sometimes it asks me to select network. Thanks

Doing a master reset will NOT lock your phone. Once it's unlocked, it's unlocked.

is there anyway to tell how good the unlock job is? I mean are all unlocks to the same standard or are some better, especially considering how this is a vodafone specific phone.

Then go into "service info" then into "SIM lock"
you will see 5 locks and if all of them are unlocked, then you are good to go!

unlocking means removing the simlock from a phone. This is in no way related to
decustomising which means removing branded firmware and replacing it by unbranded firmware.
For the V800, I would not recommend decustomising if you're going to use Vodafone, as it will limit your options. Debranding really only is worth it if you're not on Vodafone imho.
You can still have the phone unlocked (as indeed topicstarter seems to have) and have branded firmware on.

I want to use it on o2 in the UK and Hutch (Orange) in India. So I would need debranding as I just hate the look.
